I need some advise guy...anyone Vet Update

Re: I need some advise guys......anyone
I watched them all Joey and if I had to bet money I would say false pregnancy. Did you see the mating and what day of her cycle was it made (after first blood)? My females really bag up the last few days before delivery, yours doesn't appear to be doing so.

Re: I need some advise guys......anyone
My guess is false pregnancy also. I don't believe there are any pups there. Sorry.
Re: I need some advise guys......anyone
then what the heck am I feeling in her belly. And why the milk. Why would she have milk?
last breeding was Feb 15th and they tied for more than a half hour. I picked her up on the 15th. I counted 5 days afterwards of her still standing and curving her tail. She was doing this to her kennelmate another female I keep her will. She was jumping on her and curving her tail and barking pretty much the entire day for 5 days after she had already been bred. This is the only thing I can think of. Maybe I should have left her longer to be bred a couple more times.
and daisy was bred more than once. Was kept with the male for a few days prior to the last breeding.
then you get those people that say ahhhhhhhh i only let them tie once and they have 9 pups

You don't know me and I don't know you, so maybe I should not even comment on the video. I hope as a young man you are sincere in wanting to hear and learn from obviously more knowledgeble beaglers than yourself. By your comments its easy to see you are a novice in many respects. You showed a video and asked for comments, I think, so here goes.
I see in that short video that you only have one real dog in that group and that is the tri colored one and the rest are just stirring around, following, and depending on that one to get the work done. Would be a good gun dog, I liked it. Sorry if advice you ask for doesn't agree or support your views, but if just backup for your views and backpats is what you really want, I'll shut up.
As some have said, breed and feed what you like, good or bad!!! As long as you're satisfied with your dogs, that's all that matters.
One breeding is as good as several.

Re: I need some advise guys......anyone
((((I had a female that I was sure bred and 62 days came and went when it got to 65 I took her to the vet. It was a false pregnancy gave her some kind of shot and it fixed her right up, he said it was just a hormone thing. Her teats dropped and everything had milk ect. ect.. I bred her the next heat cycle and she ended up with 12 pups and was fine. So don't stress let nature handle it. I will tell you some females get nervous during birth especially young females so just keep an eye on her but don't brrod over her. Scott-)))))
This was my reply on your other post about Daisy. So they can and do get milk during a false pregnancy. I think you would be better buying a pup also you worry about things way to much. Like I said let nature take its course. She will let you know if there is a problem. If you are stressed out take her temp if it is elevated take her to the vet if not don't worry about her if she is eating and drinking. JMO
The other thing is pressuring a 5 month old pup with better hounds and adding in all the new stuff with guns and hunting sounds like a good way to ruin a young pup to me. I don't advise running such young hounds with experienced dogs anytime until the pup proves it can run a rabbit successfully solo on a regular basis. If you have a couple young pups of the same age and ability level run them together maybe with an old slow dog that they can out foot easily. All they learn from better hounds is how to cheat and skirt to keep up and not learn to handle a track, There are exception to everything some pups may handle it fine but most won't JMO

Some one advised you to take her to the vet, Did you? That is the only way to know for sure. If I was that worried she would have done been there already. Alot of the questions you have been asking were answered on your previuos post over and over. GO TO THE VET!!!!!!!
You asked for advice I gave it you even made the same comment about raising pups earlier.
(((((I also spoke with yellowdog. He is going to take care of me if my daisy don't have any pups anyday soon. He has a litter due in 2wks his Lady X Ringo. I should be pleased with this pup. Will be related to brewers/chad Dingo dog. If any of you seen him run. Will be his little sister. With all the problems I'm having trying get a litter of my own. I'm better off just getting a pup and not messin with having a litter. It would have been nice to get a junie litter. Trust me I'd really like to but I shouldn't mess with trying to have a litter. With my luck something would happen again.))))) These were your comments on an earlier post. I did not mean to offend you in my earlier post, In my opinion you worry to much I even put that in my post JMO, you ask for opinions I gave you mine, IWILL NOT POST ON YOUR TOPICS ANYMORE.

The one I'm talking about is the tri with the most white around the neck. I think its the one nearest you in your picture on each post.
That one looked hardest, found the check and led off on the rabbit line in the video. I can't tell which one opened first, it or another, but the white necked one found the check, led off, and the others followed.
Missing a breeding is not the end of the world, you'll get many more chances with various dogs. Feel free to e-mail me anytime, or call 205-681-9245 and My 3 sons or myself will help you all we can, just expect candid and honest answers.
Don't get mad, LEARN!!!

Don't worry about posting on your thread, thats what this is for. I understand your worried, been there. I bred a female for a lady last year, gyp swole up some but never like she should have. The lady waited till her delivery time and took her to the vet, no pups but she had milk and was nesting. Bred her again this year swole up some again but not really big like most you see, due date came and went and she went back to the vet, 2 puppies only and she found out the gyp only had one working ovary. These are living animals and no two are the same, some are bred once and have 10 with no problems, some are bred 3 or 4 times and have 3 with a c-section. Some bitches may have the starting of pups and absorb them back into their own system, but once the pups form larger they may need the shot to clean em out. It sounds very costly in your area for the tests but it will be the only way to ease your mind. If it were me I would watch her for a few more days to see if she's having any problems, temperature is a good indicator. Are you letting her out to exercise and move around or is she just staying in the kennel? Moving around will most times help the process get going if she does have pups, nomatter how many. Email me if I can help you anyway. aceofdallas@sbcglobal.net

ok here goes the dumb question - how do you take her temp. In the poop shoot??????????? I'm going to so hate doing this. I can do this tonight if someone tells me what to do. I'll post her temp tomorrow.
I'll go to the pharmacy and get a thermometer thing
Re: I need some advise guys......anyone
With the dog STANDING:
Clean the thermometer with alcohol. Wipe off excess with a cotton ball.
Apply a small amount of petroleum jelly (vaseline) to the head or bulb of a rectal thermometer. Just enough to lubricate the tip.
Slowly slide the thermometer into the dog's rectum about 1 inch deep.
Wait 2 minutes for a mercury thermometer or until the digital thermometer beeps.

Re: I need some advise guys......anyone
seems easy enough. What should I be looking for temp wise.
Re: I need some advise guys......anyone
Joey,
With false pregnancy a female can put on weight, produce milk, and nest. If she took I really think you would definitely know it regardless of how many pups she had in her. Not sure but you probably increased her food thinking she needed more since she was preg.....I know I usually do. This obviously can attribute to some weight gain....sure has for me LOL. If it were me I would really think long and hard about having a litter. The reason I say this is that if your vets around there want $250 for an X-ray then just imagine what a C-section will cost you. For example as I stated earlier for a vet exam, x-ray and 2 shots of ocytocin mine was $90....they said if she had to have a c-section it would be $700 minimum and could greatly increase with any difficulties. So I would venture to say it will be more in your area. Just a little food for thought. If it were me I'd just grab a little Ringo pup and have your fun with it. Anyway goodluck.
Yes you just make sure you lube it up LOL. I use a digital and check it when its starts beeping. Everytime my females have dropped around 97 degrees the pups have been here within 24 hours.
