I'm more confused than you are caddis.

yes thats the one.

I squeezed again on saturay and got a little drip out of her. Its like it comes out like a sponge does. Not out of just one hole out of several tiny holes like a sponge.

don't ask me cause I don't have a clue anymore if she had pups in her or not. One day she looks a bit bigger then next she looks skinny.

I'll take pics of her again tonight. And post em tomorrow.

Day 65 is today. based on her last breeding which was feb 15th

I'm just getting so fustrated with all this.

she wasn't nesting. read in earlier in this post I state why she was diggin around

yes I do feel something. WTF is it I don't know. I tried to get my friend DGB to come out but it didn't pan out he couldn't make it over. See if he could of looked at her.

no doubt they'll be good rabbit dogs. No doubt.

the way I see it is Lisa is a good gun-dog. Not gun shy Never ran deer never. You can walk her over the scent and nothing. All rabbit dog. Has tons of hunt and alot of desire. You leash her up and if a dog strikes she'll rip your arm off trying to join in the race. I've killed tons of rabbits off her. She is a good check dog and has good line control. She has a big nose YES a little cold trialing here and there. BUT SHOW ME another dog that is 100% perfect. she is not and yours isn't either. Its reality. I'm not shy to put up my dogs faults. I also put up the good about her. And yes she can solo her own rabbit.

no quit in this dog. She'll go till she drops. I've done that to her more than once. Hunt for 6-8hrs get home and carry her to the kennel cause She ran for so long.

One could say the pups would turn out like the Dam. But the Sire plays a part to.

Not knockin anyones opinion. I posted this to get your opinion so keep em coming. Just having a conversation about all this to help me out.

Joey,
Take the female you bred to the vet before you even thing of breeding another one, jmo. Lord man, all those signs and now she is not pregnant?? ONLY the vet can tell you at this point for sure!!
Don't buy it, or you are trippin wanting puppies so bad.
Buy a puppy if she is not preg. , make sure this pup you buy is a MALE, that way you won't drive yourself crazy for over two months, and us as well. WOW, get her checked man, it doesn't cost that much. Had it done before, it is worth it, heck I bet the viewers will pitch in at this point!! :yikes:

it would take me 3 months of deciding on what puppy to buy..............lmao

seriously though I wanted pups. That's why I did all this. I didnt know she wasn't going to grown huge like the other pics I've seen of preg dogs. She stayed small so that's why I question everything about her pregnancy.

now that lisa is in heat I could breed her and have my pup that I want.

Joey,
You should have her x-rayed by a vet to make sure there are no pups in her. I bred my female twice to 2 different males and both times she had 1 pup. Obviously it must be her so I wont breed her again. Well that is unless I just want a pup. Guess that way I dont have to worry about finding homes for the rest LOL. Anyway both times you could tell she was preg. As a matter of a fact I'll shoot u a pic of her so u can see. Anyway to have her xrayed shouldn't be too pricey. Call and ask and your vet can tell you how much it will be. Tell them you only want an x-ray and NOT an ultra sound. Ultra sounds are more accurate and used in early stages of pregnancy but with as far along as she is an x-ray will show.

Holy****...........glad I am in Indiana then. A vet exam, x-ray, and 2 doses of oxytocin only cost me $90.

I may take you up on this Jimmy. I'm trying to get in contact with ol yellowdog first. He has and I'm not 100% sure a litter his lady X Ringo. if they are not all spoken for then I'll be getting one of them. If that fails I'm headed to kentucky.

Like I said when is the right day to breed her. I don't know. saw blood the 16th Would be nice if I can head out Friday April 24th and come back home Sunday the 26th with a bred dog. And Wednesday the 22nd I'll schedule her a neg brus test so I can bring that paper work with me to kentucky.

By wednesday Daisy should have had her pups. By wednesday will be day 67

another thing Lisa don't bark out of the blue making a false line. If she cold trails on cold mornings 90% of the time a rabbit is produced. No making up lines either. If she barks a rabbit is nearby just have to jump him. that where my other dogs perk up and hit the area hard searching. every time i rabbit hunt and she does this I say ok rabbit in the area now just have to jump em. thats when I work the dogs toward thicker cover.

seems as if I may have trouble selling the rest. I'll just give them away for cheap if anything. I just need the one. its a gamble if the pup will pick up that lil bit of cold trailing lisa has. gamble for me too. I'll pick one that looks like Junie and cross my fingers. No room to keep them all. Like I said I don't field trail so it don't bother me. From a field trailers point of view this cross would be a gamble. It may or may not pick up that trait. but from a rabbit hunters point of view you will get a pure rabbit dog that can put rabbits in the game bag. NO question there

as far as pushing a lil 5 month old female well. If it's going to be one of my rabbit dogs it will get pushed to the limit. and that's that.

Now not saying over running her but you know get ran often. packed up and solo

Thinking on the weekends run her with the pack and during the work week run her at nighttime. I got the spot for that. Run her one or two hours solo couple times a week then run her with the pack on the weekends. I'll have to do this so that she doesn't metoo bark after the dogs.

What day is best to breed a female
I think the best 2 days possible are the 2nd or 3rd day she will stand for a male. I have bred several, and Dad countless bitches with 1 breeding and headed home. The bitches almost always got with puppies and had good litters.

Joey, check Lisa with your male Friday, if she will stand fer him head to see ole June.
Also if you like Lisa and she suits you, then it wont matter if the pups turn out just like her. June will throw hunt, speed , and Crazy loud mouths. Good Luck.

Joey, it seems to me you are happy with your female so go breed her to Junie. Run, keep, and feed what you like, thats all that matters.
