You measured two in my cast paul, and wilson and the spencer boys dog in that cast.....so you measured at least 4 total.....maybe your mind is getting bad with age

I maybe wrong but i still feel the answer is to measure all hounds that make it to the finals of every hunt so the most you would ever measure would be 15 it may take a while but i think they would stop bringing dogs over 15 if they knew that the stand was waiting in the final cast.

I actually measured about 7 dogs. I was saying how many measured out..should have made that a little more clearer..

Isn't at the club hosting the hunts discretion if the want to measure all the hounds in arha
i know in ukc they measure all hounds
and if so why don't the clubs measure more

I have never asked for a dog to be measured simply because I dont think it gives them that big an advantage in most cases and may be a disadvantage in some.However having said that. If someone feels like it gives the the dog an unfair advantage I dont think it is a bit wrong for them to have a dog measured.Like someone said .The rules are the rules.If you dont like the rule then put in a request to have it changed.I had a nice one that I gave away to become a deer dog that I would have kept If knew we were gonna run 16's.

you knew the rules and did not want to have to put up with it at a hunt.....what i like a dog that runs deer or one that is to mouthy for the hunts ,,you dont see them guys on here .....we all know what the rule is and still the guys bring these dogs that are over and when they get called out they get madd....if you have a dog like MR WILSON and everbody that has seen him knows he is too tall.... dont cry about it ,,i did not make the rule ....

i agree with these guys,have some faith in your hound,yeah,there are rulz but there is also this thing called havin a set between your legs and confidence in your hounds ability,lke i said earlier,shure,wilson is over,we all know that,but he has been over everytime he has been entered in a hunt,but when we where all beating up on him,no one had a problem,now that he has matured and turned into a powerhouse,people got scared,grow a set boys,if my hound cant beat that extra inch or so,it doesnt stay in my kennel,i have never and will never measure a hound,why...........

cause i aint scared!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Like I said in my earlier post I have never asked for a dog to be measured and likely never will.When I run in a hunt I am often handling a 12 1/2 inch female that 99 times out of a hundred is giving up an inch and a half to 2 inches to every dog in the cast anyway .I figure either she will get it done or she wont.If she loses,I have been there before.

You boys don't understand who should be scared....When you put those over-sized hounds in the hunt......They are going to be measured....No one is scared to say measure that dog....

99% of dogs at world hunt was under 15" The day of the big dog in A.R.H.A. is gone....

if you scared just say so 99% are under thats bs the measuring thing it's self is a joke let me measure and put my hands on them and i'll bet you i can measure out at least 80% a true houndsman will never ask to have a hound measured anybody that knows anything about a hound should know that 1 or 10" will not make a difference in a hour cast
