one thing I didn't do was weigh her little behind. I've weighed her in the past though. She is always around the 20lb or 22lb mark.

Tonight I will weigh her and let you guys know how much she has gained in wieght.

The more I think about this the more I suspect a smaller litter. She had 4 in her first ever litter. This will be her second some 2 years later.

I'll let you all know tomorrow

so I weighed her last night. I looked up some of my paper work on when I weighed her in the past.

She was 18lbs before.

So I weighed her last night she was from 20lb to 22lbs. I was standing on a bathroom scale. So it varied some. But not much

took some pics and looked her over real good. This is what I'm seeing.

Her mid section has grown alot. The middle of her body has become big a round. Why? do the pups grow in that area then shift downward towards the belly at the very back of her body? Anyone

I called local vet and they want $150 to check her pups. I can't afford that right now. I have a ton other stuff to pay for. Just can't afford that.

Whether she is pregnant or not if she took or didn't take I'm not to concerned. What I'm worried about is my dog and her well being. If it was a mis what happens to the sacks in there. Will she pass them. I'm just confused and not really sure what to think any more. I'm just crossing my fingers at this point and hope she starts growing here pretty soon. Some on the board are saying she should be the size of a basketball by now and that is what worries me because she isn't at that point yet with 18 days or so to go.

this sort of stuff only happens with me. Whether it be dogs cars or anything else in-between. I don't know why I even bother.

If she didn't take you have no need to worry. She will be fine. Only time they have embyotic sacks is if she is bred and pups develop. I have had females not show much till the very end and have up to 4 small pups or 2 big pups keep your eye on her teats they will let you know. I had a female that I was sure bred and 62 days came and went when it got to 65 I took her to the vet. It was a false pregnancy gave her some kind of shot and it fixed her right up, he said it was just a hormone thing. Her teats dropped and everything had milk ect. ect.. I bred her the next heat cycle and she ended up with 12 pups and was fine. So don't stress let nature handle it. I will tell you some females get nervous during birth especially young females so just keep an eye on her but don't brrod over her. Scott-

Joey she may have taken but she just doesn't have many pups in her. How many times did you breed her? You should be able to feel pups by now if she is bred.

Don't worry about it to much. She'll be fine.

Dogs have been having pups for millions of years without our help. I know you're worried, but try to relax. She'll be fine. Just keep an eye on her, but not too close: you don't want to make her nervous. Are there any more experienced beaglers or other dog owners you could call who live close by? When I was worried about my first litter, I had a more experienced friend come over and look at my gyp. She was fine. Two weeks later, she had 9 pups in the middle of the night out in her kennel. Didn't make a sound and everyone turned out just fine.

I look at her every day when I come home from work during feeding time. I just giver her a good look thru the kennel wire. I still don't see her growing like she should be.

I had high hopes for a new pup this coming season. I was really looking forward to training a pup and the whole 9 yards. Pretty bummed out about this.

Yeah, I know you're bummed. Now, I'm no expert or anything close, but I think from the pictures, she looks like she might be having a small litter. Gently feel her belly. You should be able to feel something different than before. If she didn't take, try again next time. As for wanting a pup to train, I have 3 I'm working with right now and that's hard work!!!

Maybe she just has two in her. But seems pretty weird to me that she'd only have 2. She is an older dog born Dec 04 and this will be her second litter. You'd think she have a normal size of 5 or 6. I dont know anymore. First litter was only 4 but she was huge and the pups were giant when they came out. But I used my big male Pistol that time. He throw some biggins. Male I used this time is a small little guy almost smaller than daisy. Maybe thats why she isn't huge. That doesn't make sense to me though shouldn't matter the size of the sire to determine how big the pups inside her will be.

Times a ticking and we will be nearing the due date pretty soon. I'll keep you all updated.

4-6-2009 update

Took her out sunday for a couple hours. She ran pretty much the entire time. Used her mouth good pushed some rabbits around and also took one on by herself. She looks a bit wider than normal. I'm seeing her nipples starting to sag a bit more. I'm thinking that we will be seeing pups. Not very many but will have pups. When I got back home she went to town eating. She ate alot.

I'm going to take her back out this weekend. Not sure how much longer I can run her till. She does good so I'll take her out again.

We ran about 9am. Felt like 70degrees and it was about to storm on us. Very humid air.

Here's some Daisy Action. What kind of mouth would you guys say she has. She is not the high pitch Bitch.
She is the shorter one.

4-7-2009 update

As of last night she seems to be growning some what. Not the size of a basketball but has grown some.

For the most part she is wide at the stomach area/rib area. Her belly has dropped just a little. So i'm thinking small litter. She defiantly looks bigger wider and stocky. I'm guessing 2 or 3 pups. Better than nothing. Just hope ones a female.

Coming up on the due date pretty soon. 10 or so days left.

I'm going to be puttin her by herself Friday. I have the day off work and am going to prepare everything for her. She is starting to become aggressive towards her kennel mate. She never does this before. So I'm thinking I better put her up by herself ASAP. I will do this Friday.

I'm not sure of the actually due date cause she was bred any where from feb 10th - 15th. I know the 15th was the last breeding. So that puts us anywhere from April 15th - April 20th for due date.

I'll try and gets some pics of her up pretty soon. Wait till she gets just a little bigger.
