If i didnt have to work a trial for our club, I'd go to this. I'd love to watch and pick a few brains.

When you come into Coshocton and cross the bridge Mickey D's will be on the right. Those direction were sent to me from Thornie and I will be coming from Zanesville so if you are coming in a different way the bridge reference may not be applicable. Go to http://www.mapquest.com for detailed directions.

If you are coming east on Rt. 16 here is the direction below. I'll be coming off Rt. 146 out of Zanesville onto Rt. 16. You can pick Rt. 16 up off I270 in Columbus, Ohio as well.

13: Merge onto OH-16 E.

14: Take the OH-541 ramp toward ROSCOE VILLAGE/COSHOCTON.

15: Keep RIGHT at the fork to go on OH-541/CHESTNUT ST.

16: End at 101 Chestnut St Coshocton, OH 43812-1130
Looks like the weather is going to be sunny and in the low sixties.

Just got done talking with J. Lane for a bit and looks like this should be a hit.
See ya'll there. Bring a smile and be prepared for a great day. I am hoping this is the beginning of a great thing and we can have these get togethers a few times a year. Next one will be in WV, IN, or Ky. :check:

We had a very successful day of running. Had guys from WV, Va., and every corner of Ohio attend and ran for a solid 6.5 hours. Great fun and fellowship. I will post some pictures when my energy level returns. :D

We will be doing this again. :check:

I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of the day. It was very nice to meet so many fellow beaglers. Had good conversation and fellowship and got to see some good running. The location was second to none. By no means am I “knocking” field trials, but it was fun to just get together, get to know one another, talk dogs, fellowship and watch the dogs do their thing with no pressure, judging or score cards involved. If anything, I think fellow beaglers becoming acquainted with one another in this manner may enhance the field trial attendance. I believe this type of old school comradery in beagling is the glue that has kept beagling together and around this long. I would like to give special thanks to Ed {Pike Ridge} and Thornie for arranging this, guiding us and making this possible. We absolutely need to make this happen a couple times a year and I would encourage beaglers in other states to do the same. It was a great day.

I have to say for a spur of moment of planning, I had a blast. We had a toatal of 14 dogs. We turned all 14 down and thats the way they ran. No score cards, who got that check, just a lot of good fun. I was really impressed with the senior citizen dog, Bev you can be proud. The rabbits was a little scarce at first, but we got a couple that took the dogs out of hearing. One funny part was on our last turn out, I told our group if we get this rabbit up in here, how he usally ran and he didn't let me down. One of the guys, said I suppose you have names for these rabbits. and I said this one is Long and Deep. I was asked buy some of the guys, if I could adopt them, but when he said the one fellow could eat a sack a tatters a day, I had to decline. The gentlemen from WV was complaing about their dogs not haven a chance because their dogs legs being a little shorter on one side from running the hills of WV. I think they was pulling my leg, because I didn't see any grass growing under their dogs feet when they was a running. It was a great day and I can't wait until the next one. Oh, Bev maybe the next time you could get the Hens together and come join us but just remember their won't be any Honey Do's, or toilets, I'll furnish the paper   .

We had a great time--maybe next time we can make it a 2 day event. Thornie, if you could adopt the 2 ol timers I sure would appreciate it. I hope dead eye beagle and his friend can get the video posted --that was some great footage. Pike Ridge let's do it again before summer.

The pendulum of life swings back and forth in this world. We get wrapped up in whos got the best and forget about the real reason we got into beagling, the dogs and the lasting friendships and days in the field. Sounds like you guys really took a step to bringing the good old days back. Congrats everyone wins!!!!!!!!!!!!!
