I used to have all or those articles, not sure where there at now. I know I put them in boxes so they would keep. I loved reading those stories about Ruff Towns.

Re: The Rabbit hunter mag and the houndsman
Those were some of the best written stories on hounds and the men that keep them that I have read. I wish that whoever wrote them would be inspired to write some more adventures of Rufe.Maybe go back to when he was younger
. They reminded me of the Jim Kjelgard books I read when I was a boy. If you want a great story about hounds read " The Bear" by William Faulkner. Hard to find but excellant, and I'm a yankee

Whoever wrote those in the rabbit hunter did a great job. I really enjoyed them. And, Kjelgard takes me back. Big Red was a childhood favorite of mine.Buckeye Bob wrote:Those were some of the best written stories on hounds and the men that keep them that I have read. Your best bet would be to contact the publishers of "The Rabbit Hunter" and ask them.

Takes me back too. I read all those Kjelgard booksin the school library. Big Red, Son of Big Red, Outlaw Red. I would never have guessed in a million years someone would have brought that author's name up some 30 years later. Thanks for the bringing the memories back.houndsound wrote:Whoever wrote those in the rabbit hunter did a great job. I really enjoyed them. And, Kjelgard takes me back. Yes, I know...and I've been sworn to secrecy since I found out in 2001. It was a good run, but I'm not sure you will see The Houndsman again in the real near future. There's always a chance, though!Danny King wrote:Some one has to know come on bev do you know
