Any SPORT DOG 3200/2500 Owners?

Post by B-man »

I just got another pup and need to upgrade. Currently I use Innotek 1/2mile 1002 2 dog system, but can't add another collar. I am very interested in the Sport Dog 3200, it has 2 mile range (line of sight), runs up to 4 collars but no tone. After reading a lot about Tri-tronics I am not interested at all in their product. I can get a SD 3200 system for 3 dogs for $505 and it comes with a LIFETIME WARRANTY. Sport Dog also has the 2500 which I can buy for $489 (3 collars) but has 1 1/2 mile range and use of tone.

Which one should I go with?

The "lifetime" only covers you for the first year after that you pay a fee for everything that goes wrong 45 per collar 40 for transmitter 20 for charger that is what I was quoted on my year and four month old sd 400 that only cost 159 new thats some warranty !! Was going to get the 3200 but thanks to the great customer service got a trashbreaker with 3 collars.

60-90 hours per charge with the 3200. Similar to what you are getting.

I have the 3200 system. I am pretty sure the collars last 40 - 80 hrs. between charges. It blinks once every four sec, when the battery is low. On the 2500 ,I believe you lose the tone feature after 2 collars.I love the 2 mile range on my 3200 houndhunter .I run hare and sometimes run into deer in these areas and its great to be able to stop a beagle when they get on one :D . No tone on the 3200 ,but on #1 setting it gets their attention but I barely feel it on me. I like the smaller transmitter too. Only drawback is it takes a 9 volt battery which can and has died without warning on me.You need to carry an extra battery with you.

i have the sport dog 2500,you lose the tone after you program more than 4 collars, and for the money you can't beat them, haven't had any problems with mine,11/2mile range, usually have no problems reaching the dogs, would highly recommend if your looking for a system, jmo

Sportdog repalced one of my transmitter for free after almost three years of use. I just called them, discussed the problem and they told me a new one was on the way. Doesn't get any better than that. That was last summer, maybe they have changed it a bit. I own a 2500 and haven't had any trouble out of it. I run 4 collars. I charge every other use, but it says it lasts 80 hours. I just don't take a chance. The batteries are the non memory type. Very pleased with Sport dog as a product and a company.
