Dutch and the Hall of Fame

Post by Duke »

Well some of you guys know Dutch was voted as an inductee into the Hall of Fame this weekend by unanimous vote. But what I wanted to do was thank some guys who helped ole Dutch git-r-done.

First I want to thank Greg Brown and his dad Lydle. They not only bred Dutch but really helped out in his training. Gregs Dad Lydle started Dutch and taught me a lot about hounds, and where Lydle left off Greg picked up. Greg is a houndsman through and through and has forgotten more than alot of us know. They deserve a lot of credit in helping Dutch become the hound he is.

I also gotta thank my good friend RJ Spivey. He took me under his wing at my first Big Pack hunt. I had never had so much fun at a field trial, we laughed and cut up and just had a great time. But more than that RJ is an astute houndsman and competitor. He along with all the other guys at Big Pack made me feel like family.

I wanted to say thanks to those guys who really helped me and Dutch out. I am a better houndsman because of them and Dutch was given the chance to be all he could. Thanks guys!!!!!!!

congrats, I will always remember dutch and the crew running a rabbit on that day with all the rain. There was a small pond behind me about a foot deep because of the rain and I put my back to it because I knew that rabbit would not run through the water. I was wrong I heard some splashing and looked behind me and the rabbit had got away. Then here come dutch not missing a beat through about 20 yards of water right on that rabbit.

Dutch is one of a kind. congrats again.

Thanks, Greg knows Dutch as well as anyone and he saw him at 8 years old tearing up a Hare in a swamp this year, they had been on hare all morning before they went deep into this one swamp, they were in there for hours flying, during the heat of the day, most of the dogs had there nails torn off by the tags by the time we got that hare. it was a very fine performance.

Like I said Greg deserves as much credit as anyone. He bred Dutch and was instramental in training ME as well as Dutch.
