Hey Brian
Good to hear from you.We own 6 acres in Madisonville and have just got the foundation up and the water and power in.I am planning on being over there in mid March when my brother-in-law and father-in-law [both carpenter/builders ] are coming down from New Hampshire and my son-in-law from Knoxville is coming down. We're hoping the four of us can get the house framed up and in the dry in two weeks.Probably be at least a year before we get over there living full time.As far as running with you,Greg and Jack I will very much look forward to it as I know the three of you to be knowledgeable dog men.Pleased to hear the dog Greg got from me is doing well and producing a good pup.
To the rest of you posters on this thread .I believe I'll just kind of fade out here..........you all get a little too intense for me.
PEACE

Yea man it aint personal ;) My thoughts on your post was really this . some guys with all lines just breed and sell pups & dogs for the money and have on ideal or just plain ole don't care what they produce , this is where some stray from what the lines are noted for. I can't say Willet was so concerned with speed , never met the man but I do know hunt & grit was 2 things he was after & I really think speed was on his agenda as all the ole time patch breeders dogs had this trait as well as the other 2 mentioned and these are the traits I personally admier in them and take pride in to my best to keep this in my hounds. But also I'm not jsut a speed junky , I want speed but with some line control ,I don't like swingers & skirtsers and as you said some just have that natural ability but back when I was going to a few trials a lot of what I saw in ARHA little pack were just that. Now it's been several years since I was at or entered a hound, maybe things have changed. I know my hounds , Cuz & Billys hounds as we run and hunt together regularlly so these are the only 1's I can talk about and they all got foot, hunt & grit.
When you hook up with Brain,Greg & Jack , pick ole Jacks head about all the patch dogs run used to run.
Oh yea I'm only about 30 minutes from Madisonville , I'm in Lenoir City when you get settled call me and we will run some hounds or if I can help you with your house or the move I'd be glad to help if possible , glad to have another avid beagler in the area.
