Thanks for the kind words guys. I run almost every weekend Sat. and Sun and several times though the week. I will even change my plans if need be. When you are ready or get a chance to run, you can call me at 540-292-3000 and we'll go!

I've made more progress with the dog. Rabbits were around in December 2008 and we had some really good runs on them though woods and fields.

Capo did go after a deer...once...a quick zap with the collar solved that problem. After that, it was all rabbits.

He's very eager on rabbits. If he sees one, I give him a "huntemup" and point as he takes off. He does check in with me, usually by stopping with a front leg up and looking. I just point in a direction and holler...off he goes where I want him to. He's learned that I sometimes see the rabbit and it's in the direction I point. I trained this as he was sight chasing; the rabbit was in the direction of the point every time.

He does use his nose much better now. We had a few runs through thickets and he couldn't see the rabbit (I could though). I just pointed him toward it and his nose did the rest. Springtime is going to be lots of fun this year.
