A general forum for the discussion of hunting with beagles, guns, clothing and other equipment and just talking dawgs! (Tall tales on hunting allowed, but remember, first liar doesn't stand a chance)

lolol Joe, If you even dream about Roxy putting it on Dingus, you better pinch yourself and wake-up and call me and apologize, at any hour of the night This is going to be fun.......more for some than others.

Joe and Jim, now were talking, a little “brotherly” competition.
I have looked at a few public hunting grounds, but does anybody know of any public or non-public hunting grounds where a group of hunters could meet for a day and do this? Where there is a cheap hotel near by? I would love meet some of you guys and see your dogs run. I would leave mine at home and just come and watch. Even better I could bring a video camera. I think it would be a good story for a magazine, “the fellowship of fellow beaglers”. A gathering for fun, not to beat the other guy out and get a trophy. Somebody in the general area take the bull by the horns and get it done.
I am hear to tell ya...............you put down 15+ hounds in a place where rabbits are plentiful and that is the sweetest sound out there! We ran 13 hounds once for 6 non stop hours and it was awesome. Somebody get this setup.
There is a 4000 acre wildlife farm that we could run on but the season is already out. This farm is the Clay Wildlife area located along the nicholas county fleming county line. If you guys want to come and run down here this year I will come up there next year. What do you think. Duane
Just dont get mad when my 20 month old 13 inch tri color balls to the wall male (buster) runs a rabbit between your big dogs legs. He will them bunnies
We could have alot of fun with this. Sounds like a great time.
Bowling's Old Blood Beagles BOBB's Line of Hounds Selective breeding of Old Branko "NINJA"/Ranger Dan = BOBB's Line
Gun season is gone, but the fun now begins.....off season running which is better because we won't have to compete for running ground.
How about a full day of running in Ohio.
This was a great idea Jim, lets make it happen.
Many have already shown interest.
This could be become the beginning of an annual event and the way to meet other houdsmen/women and compare notes and watch various bloodlines without all the politics...just have fun running hounds.
I think Woodbury Wildlife Area of Tunnel Hill Rd. 541 would be perfect for this type of event. There is plenty of land, no major roads and with the Ceresis grass there should be plenty of game. Thornie could also hook us up in some good running over Coshocton way.
How about the first weekend in April on a Saturday?
Sounds good Jim. If anyone wants to join we are planning to get together April 4th at Woodbury off Tunnel Hill Rd. The location will be close to the shooting range at Woodbury Wildlife area. We can all meet at the range at 9:00AM then go to the running grounds which is about 5 minutes away. This is a large area and beautiful country.
If anyone is coming through Zanesville, they can follow me there.
Received a few PM's from guys interested and sent a PM out to Thornie, who lives out that way. I am hoping Thornie will guide this hunt; although, the area is vast and plenty of places to run. You guys who posted interest, PM if you need any additional info.
Riddlerun is going and he has frequent flyer miles at Woodbury so we should have no problem getting into rabbits. The cover is so thick at Woodbury that there is no way the place can get gun hunted out. I know of a great stretch of ground that is beutiful to watch hounds run over and it has plenty of cover, mixed with Cerisis grass fields, pines and hardwoods.
This should be a very fun filled and interesting day with some real dog power and great fellowship amongst various houndsmen with all types of hard hitting bloodlines. Bring your best and be ready for a great time.
PM me if you need directions or other info.
This sounds like a great time. I will try to make it. No pressure of atrial just fun running in gods country.Sounds like this is going to be a hit might want to think about two days of running with all the response your getting. How about the peaple that bring dogs to run bring a copy or two of the dogs pedigree so we trade back and forth.Looking forward to putting aface with a name.
