Looking for good tips on starting my 6 month old pup.

I currently have a 2 year old that is okay and a six month old female that I am ready to get started. I am new to the sport so I'm not sure where to start. Also looking for tips on helping out my 2 year old, like I said he does a good job sometimes but he seems to lose alot before they circle. I live in Ohio and we have alot of coyote's and someone said that does not help with rabbit hunting as far as them holeing up. Thanks

Coyotes are never a good thing when it comes to rabbit. Shot as many as you see. As far as your dogs, just take them out as much as possible. The more you take them out and let them chase rabbit the better they will get.

My dad used to have some beagles. he had this one female that would run the socks off a rabbit. he would let her out with the pups and before you know it they would jump themselves. experience is the key factor. My dad let his run all year round, in the summer it is harder for them to smell because the scent doesn't hold good but let them hunt and they will learn. at least you have an older dog that will do something. Someone stole my dad's dogs, so 5 yrs later I am now 18 and i got to pups but no one where I live rabbit hunts. or the people that do just want to use me because of my farm has plenty.

Just take them for walks and they will learn.

At least that is the idea.

for your 6 month old pup you may want to take it to a starting pen just to get it started then take it out as much as posible and as far as your 2 year old practice makes perfect
