just got in from running i ran a cotton tail for an hour, and that was to start the day off.
now normally i just like to get you old boys fired up, so i brag up my hounds just a little bit. the truth is i have been getting good runs. i have had some holes, but i am getting more rabbits that will run than i am getting holes.i really do think that most see one rabbit go in a hole, so every one the dogs lose go in a hole. they will run if presured believe me. any one of you boys can come down to play and my little 13 inch ace dog will plow a trail for the rest of the hounds to run  i promiss you will see and run rabbits well my dog will run for ya anyway what do ya say

Problem is chappy is your ace dog is more like 17 inches tall. Was down your way on sat and ran in the afternoon had one good run where rabbit circled 3 times and ran 1 other that circled once and then ran under a shed. The faster you pushem the sooner they will hole up.

Your exactely right Matt... Right now with the snow the way it is the bunnies don't want to play. If they aren't sitting right outside of there hole browsing they aren't far away from it and they know they cannot get away from a predator in this snow. I like a fast dog but... they aren't real effective on days like this.

Chapko
He didn't buy Ruby.
Reading your posts makes me wonder sometimes. From how you state things we should all be hearing about the great news of your new champion dog this spring. Congrats
The only way you may be getting runs like you say, is if you're standing on his hole, and even then they'll have secondary escape. No wait what was I thinking, you have those special cottontails in Owosso. or maybe they're crossed with varying hare.
Anyway if you're getting runs like that good for you

paul i would be braging up that champion dog but he is a full 15 i dont want to tell everyone how good he is. they will all be trying to beat him with the stand. i should call him the intimidator. he has all the tools but dose need to get a little more experience on hare. i will keep quiet about him i try do tell everyone size dont mean nothing a dog can olny go as fast as there nose can take them i had that 13 inch bitch that just died she could take the front on him man she had wheels

Chapko, Paul bought her I just came and checked her out for him since he couldn't make the trip from the north pole to see her himself. I'm glad he was happy with her as I was a little nervous buying a hound with someone else's money. He still has her and she is doing good.
