Durbin Valley Hit Man Hart. He produces great dog no matter what female is breed to him.

If his sire FC NORTHTOWN FROSTY was still alive I would be taking my best bitches to him. There would never be a worry about not having TOP rabbit dogs with those two.

I would have to say jack of all trades... and Northway Spur..... Dingus of course.... Dom's dougie..... MtZion Pete.....

Mt Zion pete could very well be the grandfather of all pedigree breedings (except blue cap hounds)
Even dingus goes back to Pete...... Ranger dan ... alot of the "big name" hounds ........

Gay Baker made a huge impact back in the mid 70's (so I am told) and produced a line of hounds that is still sworn by in a lot of the area's in the deep south.

Just a few thoughts there....

Durbin Valley Hitman Hart is by far the best reproduceer I have seen I have two males out of Hitman and one is a Dual UKC Champion and has a first in ARHA and the other made Rabbit Champion in 5 hunts at the age of 16 months old and the best thing about them they are TRUE RABBIT DOGS and not just feild trial dogs!!! Hitman is very consistant throwing good off spring every time (JMO) try a pup out of Hitman and see for your self!

IFC Armando's Levi sure seems to be producing some nice hounds up in Canada. This might stir some stuff up but how many bitches was bred to FC Turbo Powered by Prop? Thats something that has to be taking into consideration the percentage of FC's the sire is actually producing. Someone stated Blue Ninja had over 50 FCs in only 40 breedings thats producing power. Also another hound that will be sadly missed that produced some nice hounds was FC Brankos Magic Joey.

But being young and “dumber” {then I am now} I did not keep one pup, because the beaglers that I was around at the time convinced me that Dingus and “that type” of hound ran “too much rabbit”. My biggest regret ever was not keeping one of those pups. In my life time it would have to be Dingus MacRae. He not only produced well, many people emptied out their kennels and based & established their whole line around Dingus MacRae. His best cross ever? Dingus MacRae & Anna’s Anne. This litter produced: Int. Ft. Ch. Branko’s White Blizzard, Branko’s City Streaker, Ft. Ch. Branko’s Close Call Girl, Branko’s Manitoba Man, and Branko’s Misty. All in one litter!!! Ft. Ch. Branko’s Close Call Girl is the dam to Ft. Ch. Branko’s Jack of All Trades. This one cross alone has changed beagle field trialing as we know it today, through the domino affect of the offspring of the above litter.

Nice post!
i second that
I would have to 3rd that! I don't know of, or remember even reading about any "one cross" that has impacted beagling as that particular cross and all the "off-spring" of those in that litter. I didn't reolize all these came from the same litter, what a cross!

As I read these posts I notice one measuring stick everyone uses, the number of field champions. I have seen some grade dogs rip FC all to pieces. I agree the dogs mentioned above have produced great hounds and should be listed above, but is that the way we should measure producers? Alot of dogs are never trialed and are great. There is a man in southern TN that has raised the same breed of grade hounds for over 40 years. I would dare to say from what I have seen and heard these hounds could hold thier own against any of the other great producers and and bloodlines. Just thinking out loud. Not just the number of FC eithers, how about the # of pot lickers. If a dog throws one good pup out of every other litter and the rest is trash, maybe we need to look at it again. There are alot of great hounds out of great hounds, and I would love to have owned any of the above mentioned in the other posts.

FTC Branko's Jack of all Trades. How could you go wrong with a hound out of Close Call Girl (Dingus x Anna's Ann) by IFC Able's East Coast Trimmer?
Many top producers have him in thier pedigree: IFC Branko's Heli-Prop, IFC Melanson's Ranger Dan, FC Turbo Powerered By Prop,IFC Maravic's Blue Ninja, FC Brent's Prime Time, etc.; thus many of today's living top producers do also: Reggie, Rolling Trails, Trailblazer, Green Bay Shooter, etc. Jack of all Trades has had a huge positive influence in the beagling world.

FC Briarpatch Black Boone has been producing FC for some time, and these dogs, as well as their father, are hunted hard in the North country. So with Boone you get a real nice trial dog as well as a gun dog supreme. I'd consider Boone a good producer.
