Just did get to hunt with my new TC encore 410/45. Lots of fun. Definitely will not tote a shotgun around again. Lots of fun, more challenging, and you don't wipe out your rabbit population (atleast when you shoot like I do). I'm 0 for 2 so far, but we dont shoot at sitting rabbits.
yes I did he couldnt get one but then 2 days later a guy came in and traded one for a contender, it had never been shot I nabbed it up although i had to pay 199.95 for it satin finish

The Encore is a heavier frame and can shoot larger more powerful calibers.
i had a contender with 2 barrells one was a 22 hornet other was a 270 cal how much more powerful ya talking bout also had another contender with a 30/30 barrell i hated that thing i would shoot it n my hands would tingle for 10 minutes too much gun for a pistol imo
Other differences are that Contender barrels can be used on the Encore but not the other way around. Also on the Encore if you decide not to shoot you can let the hammer down ,on the Contender if you let the hammer down you have to break the action back open to re cock the gun. At least thats how my buddies is.
SUCCESS- When preparation and opportunity cross paths!
that may be the diff in the G2 contender, I don't have to break down to uncock mine

you cant get a 270 in a contender now the biggest I believe is a 7-30 watters and 30-30 but in the encore you can get large rifle as in the 30-06

Once you get the hotter calibers you need different grips for sure, I use a half rubber grip with .35 Remington loads, I thought I was tough enough to use my all wood target grips but I was wrong
