The "desire" to overtake and not simply follow is what separates the good from the great...Patch

Steve , ever consider moving south? From what I hear your weather is brutal right now! I think you would enjoy our Mid-West trials.

I totally agree. And the having the brains to slow down in bad conditions gives them the abaility to do just that.

Kinda like Patch, speed is irrelevant if a hound does not have ALL the other factions that make a good or great hound!
Good luck James Carmen as the traditional brace hounds I have seen in the last 10 years lack search, stamina, brains, conformation. They are mostly on the verge of dog tracking or always quitting. Back in the mid 70's we used brace trial freaks that would hunt and run a rabbit to hunt with. Had some good ones. But when you bred the TRUE traits krept out and sometimes showed glaringly! But Dingus over a brace Sir Watson bitch sprung the Cane Country Jennie line that is spoke of 25 years later.
Every year I go to a traditional brace just to look and every year it is worse. But that is what they like and they buy the feed. Have kept tabs on what is happpening over there.
James drop me a line and tell me what lines you used and why. Curiosity has taken over... :?:
