too much mouth?

Post by bunnyhuntah »

Has anyone had a problem with a bitch running completely different after having her first litter? I bought this bitch last december at the age of 3. I entered her into her first SPO trial in feb. and she took an NBQ with about four feet of snow and 12 degree weather. her second SPO trial came up in march in about 1 foot of snow and 30 degree weather she made it that time all the way to the winners pack and was the last dog picked up before the placed hounds. she then came into heat and by the time we noticed the deed had already been done. She got off the pups in july so i started runing her again hoping to have a good fall trials. however she kept getting picked up for mouth. I was just told she had too much nose. well anyways i took her out saturday with 6 iinches of snow 20 degree whether and figured she should run alot better with the scenting being harder, but the exact opposite she wouldnt hardly run just alot of barking and going no where. she is a complete different dog than she was before pups.

LOL Billy ,that was not nice, but it was really funny.
my female just did that after her first heat. she dont even act like the same dog.
i thought it was maybe becalse my old dog that was kennle beside her passed on.
i did't think about the heat cycle. . giveing her to some friends.
so now i am down to 2 dogs ( see newbe on deck post) i am goin to have to get a good dog to run with them.

I Have one here that did the same thing......best jump Dog I have ever Owned.... She still Does a good job Finding Rabbits just WAY to much mouth...She Started this just after her last litter (2nd) I have found that if i run her 2 or 3 days solid she gets better...the 4th day she will be back to her old self..leave her kenneled up a few days though She is Right back at it again...
I was told once that if it did it after a welping try her again it may just settle her back down. We will see...
She aint goin no Where though just to attached to her and she has thrown some VERY nice pups for us...

too much mouth cannot be tolerated around here.. i hate it. i think itsa not to much mouth ,but to little brains to know how to use the mouth.i hope u are shocking her for this and not letting her by with it .. if i cant stop them from doing this they go to doggie heaven and for gods sake i dont want any pups outta something like that!
