Lots of times a lost hound takes him 3 days to get real hungry and start looking for a house. You should here something in a few days. Don't give up hope... ;)

We just found my buddies two hounds after 11 days in the woods. They were in the same area. He heard and seen them pounding a hare across a river on the 8th day, but couldn't get to them, didn't find them the next day after icy snow storm and -15 cel. temps. Two days after that we went in around the others ide of the river and found both of them had beds there within 100 yards of each other. So the hounds must have decided to stay in the last place they seen my buddy, one mile from where he originally lost them. Keep looking. These two dogs are 8-1/2 years old, were not out running since last season and were fat. Now they look in shape, little skinny in the hind quarter though. They must eat mice and such when out a long time too.
We took another hound in to run a hare to help locate the two lost ones, but found them before we let the hound loose.
