I have always given the Ivomec straight. It is apparently bitter but it is a very small quanity. A couple of mine try to shake it out of their mouth and a few wash it down with a little water. Most of them just take it. Believe it or not, a couple seem to want MORE! I use a diabetic 1cc syringe and I tilt their head back and shoot it on the roof of there mouth near the back to avoid the tongue and taste buds. That also makes it hard for them to spit much of it out. I credit Ivomec with my dogs being much healthier than back before i used it 24 years ago. I began using it in the late 80's after having two dogs treated for heartworms and realizing pretty quickly that Heartguard was too expensive an option for beagles by the dozen. I have had ZERO dogs with heartworms (and only lost one dog die to kidney disease)in 20+ years of using the Catlle Ivomec.

I save all of my 3-cc syringes and sterilize them in boiling water. Use the ivormec as oakhill said 1/10 of a cc per 10lbs of body weight. With needle and syringe pull out the correct amount for the weight of the dog and shoot it into a empty syringe with out a needle. Next put a small amount of mountain dew or whatever you have in a container, a bottle cap is all you need. Then pull the liquid and the ivormec to the 3-cc mark and shake it up. Open the dogs mouth and slowly shoot it on the back of the roof of their mouth's. It will go down easy, but make sure to shoot on the roof of their mouth's, you don't want it to go down the wrong pipe and get into there lungs.

Also for any of you that have a bunch of hounds, a buddy of mine pre mixes his ivormec with a bottle of glucose and makes enough to last all year, I don't know how much of each but if I see him I will find out and post it later.

Good luck,
Bill

Received mine today and it was about 14 days from order to delivery. Looks like it was made for the USA as all directions are in English.

Ky. Hunter Click on the p in the alphabet at the top and it should be the second one down, then you might have to try and order a few times because it wouldn't let me order the first three days I tried then it worked and is on its way. It is on there you just have to look for it, and that site will give you a few fits but it is well worth the fight for such a great deal

I'll be coming up on my next worming very shortly which will be the second time for the prazivet. I worm proactively. Hard to tell as I did not have any worm problem when I started prazivet. I was using Safeguard Liquid prior to this which required a three day dosing. This is a lot easier, cheaper and so far effective. Best I can offer

Been doing it a while, seems OK. It's a myth that the Safeguard requires 3 day treatment. That was started by our friend in the Mojave Desert. Now if you are using it to treat giardia or other bowel disorders, yes 3 days is recommended. But for roundworm and hookworm control it is not necessary. I have no idea how good the prazivet really is. One way would be to treat a known bad infestation (I don't have any to treat) and see what happens.

Apparently a lot of people believe that... I don't, neither does my vet. He says you are just wasting your wormer.
