Rubber hunting boot
Anyone have any suggestions or recommendations on a all around rubber hunting boot? we prefer insulated but can do without. i bought my son a pair from bass pro shop last year, red head camo, they are junk!! blew out on the sides and split all over, i wont buy another boot from them period. I bought a cheap pair of green insulated rubber boots from kmart two years ago only give 25 bucks for them and they were great. Warm, comfortable and perfect for rabbit hunting in any weather. i went back and they dont have them or either dont have them yet. I seen some in the sportsman guide that looked pretty good but i dont think one should have to spend a fortune on a pair of rubber boots to hunt in, heck i paid 90 bucks for the ones from red head (bass pro) and i wont do that again!!!!!!!!!

I am wearing a pair of Muck Boots.
I've had them two years and they are great!
The upper is a kind of foam insulated material that you can fold down and wear like a half boot or put your pants cuff in them and roll the top up over you pants.
They slip on and off real easy.
They bottom says Muck Boot company, no address!
They were cheap about 25.00 buck two years ago!
Good luck

You can't beat a pair of Muck boots, Do a yahoo or google search on Muck boots and find the cheapest pair that suits you. They are well worth the money. I have had mine for 3 years and they have survived 3 rabbit seasons, which never happens with boots for me.

We wear Northerner boots that we buy from Rural King. They seem to last longer than anything we've tried and they are about $75.00. Normally we buy the ones that lace about 3 times at the top but my cousin just bought a pair with the zippers so we'll see how they hold up. These have lasted us for years.

Re: Rubber hunting boot
I had the same problem with Red Heads from Bass Pro Shop. I took them back after having worn them about a month. They had split on the sides too. I would never buy Red Heads again! I ended up buying a pair of cheap uninsulated Cabellas rubber boots made in China that have lasted for about 3 years now and have gotten a lot of use in the Spring & Fall. I would try Mucks next, though.

Jon ask your wife for a pair of mucks for Christmas!
Without a rabbit there is no chase!!!
Re: Rubber hunting boot
Muck boots are the best!!!! The most comfortable boots I've worn for rabbit hunting and they work well for field trialing also.I could never find any rocky's that were waterproof. The lacrosse's were extremely hard for me to get off by myself.

I always had Lacrosse rubber boots, this season I tried my first Mucks after reading the rave reviews on this board. I'll be sticking with Muck from now on, they are more comfortable and they don't make your feet and legs sweat when you walk all day.

Re: Rubber hunting boot
are all mucks the same, are there different styles? where can you find them?
Re: Rubber hunting boot
I've got the Muck boots and the slip on Muck shoes.. I like them both. I use the shoes around the house in cold and messy weather and they work fine.. I found mine at Tractor Supply... The only boots I've found that keep my feet warm..
