I will be hunting on my property here on Ridge Rd. There are some big boys back here, but they are very smart and that is why they are so big. I am due for a wallhanger...I can feel it in my bones. But, then again I feel this way every year.

I figured deadeye would have nailed a big boy by now.
I figured some of you bow hunters out there may have nailed a nice one by now. Some gal (buddies daughter) shot a monster with a cross bow the other day out near Utica, Ohio.

I went one day last week. I had 5 bucks walk right under the stand. Just didn't see anything i liked. If a doe would have showed up i could have at least filled the freezer. One if the few times i have seen nothing but bucks.

Is the first rut still going strong or winding down?
I have had my best opportunities when the first rut was still active during gun week and the temps were way down. We may finally have a gun week where the temperature is not in the sixties. Hope this is the year.

I let 3 "little" bucks walk this morning along with 7 doe....just don't need to fill the freezer right now.

I have played cat and mouse with a nice one since the end of October....I have seen him a total of 9 times, one time being less than 10 yards away but never offered a decent bow shot. His time is coming!!!!
