Shocked saddened and unable to describe what life brings us all. Steve Mikkelson says it as it was. Bless your family and I wish them strength in overcoming this event.I will remember him as difficult in his opinions but steadfast in his dedication to the sport and above all it was about the hounds not the other end of the leash. RIP Boomer you touched many. L&S monk

I had the chance to meet and talk with Mr. McBride about 2 years ago if I remember correctly. He was like an encyclopedia of hound knowledge. I feel like most, when I say that the beagling world has lost one of its most dedicated and honest houndsman. We had talked a couple times after his trip down here and like Steve said he was more than willing to answer any question you had. Prayers go out to the McBride family, Rest in Peace Terry.

Sorry to say I only knew Boomer from the message board but you get a sense when your reading from someone who's "been round the block" in beagling. The testimonies to him show what a kind heart and free spirit he was. One of the testimonies reminds me of what Ole Kickapoo said about human qualities when speaking of his hound Old Brown, "Could I have been blessed with but a fraction of Old Brown's honest perseverance, his singleness of purpose and concentration upon the job in hand, I know full well that many of the problems of life would have been materially simplified for me". It sounds to me, with the accomplishments and friends Mr. McBride leaves behind, he was indeed blessed with what Ole Kickapoo had wished for, a self purpose and contentment in finding what stirs ones soul.
If he was taken while out with his charges, he shares the happiness and contentment of I believe Staley Doub, a early beagler in America who also was called home while out with his hounds. I think, no grander finish could one hope for than to be out with hounds when you hear that last horn blow, "Gone Home".
God's peace to his family... Cross the great divide, old friends and hounds are rejoined, the race continues strong as we cheer them from the hill tops... tally-ho !

i never meet him in person but had talked to him on here and the phone about some dogs, me being a prop fan i would pick his brain every chance i could gett, and he was willing to talk all night and day long. im with hatfield on the quote he posted earlier about prop whipping some ftch soundly. ive actually got a message in my inbox from terry the first time i asked him about prop. the question was jack of all trades or heli prop and his answer waas this.....i had both jack and prop at my place jack did have more nose and jack could reproduce better, but man when you cut prop loose it was all over. the first time i talked to him on the phone terry was telling me a story about prop, he said i used to run him with older ftch and ifc before he finished and he said prop destroyed them and made them like it. those 2 things ill always remeber about him, ill also agree with others i never heard him bash another mans dog or kennel he just told you what the dog or kennel was. the beagling world has lost a poineer and a great person and ill miss him answering my lame questions about dogs from and or i n canada. god bless terry and his family. also had he been sick or anything? rip boomerx

I recall back in i think Sept he spoke of buying a Greenbay Shooter dog right close to where i live said he would have a 14 hr drive..all i could think was is that rascal snook right in here and bought a good one right under all of our nose..I guess i just respected his opinion that much. I like others have asked his opinion on a problem..thanks Bev for giving us this tool to converse with professionals such as Terry Mcbride..Rip TERRY
