Little World Judging

Post by mike crabtree »

I would like to say thanks to the people who judged at the Little World.

I saw some good judging and had a great time.

I heard a little complaining here and there, but for the most part people were satisfied. I ran 4 dogs and wasnt cheated any.People are always on here being negative about trials and judges, I just thought I would give a plug for the Judges.

I seen some good judging too..Sammy Wells did a great job judging one of my casts..

some people never get beat in their eyes..if they lose they gotta blame the judge for cheating or something..hard for some people to swallow that they just got beat...we all want to win but only one can.

The casts I had dogs out on there was little running..but on every cast I judged we had pounding so go figure

Thanks to all the Judges I had a great time and it was great to see some old friends.

Well I guess I'll be the first to complain. I seen a cast get rerun because of a (bad call). The only reason I will post this is because a stranger I meet in a cast the next day was commenting on how the judge of that previous cast was bragging to a crowd of his buddies how it did not matter if the cast was rerun or not because his buddy was judging it this time and he was going to bring the same dog back anyway. And he did just that. I just want to say why cheat? Bring the best dog for that hour back, no matter who the owner is. But if your going to shaft someone do it in the brush not in the wide open. It's a little easier to swallow that way. Thanks to all who done the best they could judging, we couldn't have had fun without you guys. :blackeye:

I re-ran 1 cast.. Completely different judges from completely different states. The new judge was rolled out of the hat. The outcome was the same. What you heard was all hear say!

The judge on that Cast to my Knowladge and talking to him about it later had NO hard Feelings toward anyone and I still think is a Stand up Guy Also talked to one of the original cast members and he said Nothing negative about the second cast Felt his Dog Got what it Deserved and that was all he wanted!!!!
The original Cast was protested takin back to the master of hounds Everybody Said thier Piece no Tempers Flared it was discussed in a civil manner and the MOH made the right Call all Shook hands cast was rerun NUFF SAID!!!!!!!!

This is How S&it gets started hearsay and Folks Runnin thier mouth about something they know nuthin about!!!!

Well I really don't want to start a big time on here, but I believe on telling it like it is. Maybe If I would have started may last post with I was (in) a cast that got rerun not seen a cast, it would not have left the door open to twist things around. As for the judges being rolled out by chance that may be true I don't know that. But I do know that the two old boys rode up there together!!! And the reason I posted any of this I have hunted with them from a neighboring club. And have seen this happen before. I posted this because I think buddy judging is a bunch of crap. We all know it happens, and probably always will. But maybe if we make it public enough and put them in the hot set where they belong they will think twice before doing it again. It is a shame hunters come from hundreds of miles away just to get sent back early. We all come hoping to win according to the rules. Why have a rule book with a scoring system and rules if you don't abide by them, why even run a cast. All I'am saying is one can ruin it for all. And that just ain't right. A rule violation is a rule violation no matter how big or small. And for the record I even had a Master of Hounds tell me once to just turn him in to the watch dog committee because he would not rerun a cast because he did not agree with the rule book violation. I know this post went from buddy judging to rule violatons but the point is why cheat why twist the rules to go to someone elses advantage. If you get beat just hunt harder or buy a better hound. And as Forest Gump says ( THAT'S ALL I HAVE TO SAY ABOUT THAT)!!!!!!!!!!

Hey, TC I wasn't trying to start no sh##. But now.... I was just wondering since you feel that way was you the handler who's dog ran the deer or just got blowed out. HA.HA.HA. I love to do two things, one rub a buddy and two just flat out tell it like it is. I can give it or I can stand it. I took 3 down to the hunt. Came back with 2 loosers that got beat. And one that was winning and then got a terrible call with 5 min to go. I just wanted what was fair for everyone. You included good or bad. A cast is tough enough to win anywhere I just want it to be played by the book.

for the record,i wasn't even there,so,i didnt protest,and i wasn't bitchin

man,let it go,i saw this stuff all the time in lp,i complaigned and was labeled a problem by most and an a$$hole by some, this stuff goes on in all formats though,i remember when i first ran akc,i bragged on how much better it was and how i always felt the right dog won, well,in akc we dont have cheaters,we have polliticians, but,i take it and go on,at least in akc,i know who is judgin before i leave home and if i dont want to run under them,i wont..........

that is the one thing i learned while runnin lp,and this statement came from one of the higher up people in little pack...........

"sometimes ya just gotta take it in the a$$,shut up and go on"

i had two dogs in indiana,i feal the judging on thier casts where top notch, had no rabbits in both one minussed out,the other pulled two minuses so,thatnkls to the guys that judged my casts, you done a fine job, whoever you was

I think the judging was real good and my hats are off to the judges! They done a super job in the two cast I was on. The first cast was opens and I was up with 5 minutes to go by a strike. One dog had minused out and the dog that was second jumped struck and got a check. My male got there and got two checks and the hunt was over. Too bad but maybe next time. I talked to both judges after the cast and they both really bragged on my hound. So I know he was close and is ready and with a break my way it could have been different but that is the way it goes. I really enjoyed watching Brad Adkins and Daniel Mckinney(I think thats right) run behind the dogs. First time the two of them has judged me but they can run behind my hounds anytime. The cast of Champions was totally different but still good judging. In my cast of champions a female was a cut your throat type hound and blew the whole cast away! It was her running and the running ground was perfect for her running style. But still the two judges done a great job( Frank Fulks and Lynn Perkins). So I have to agree with the ones who liked the judging this weekend and hope it stays that way!

Ive known Kevin Stone and Scott Sosbe since Ive been trialing. They are two of the most honest and best judges in little pack today. The man who made the protest in the first cast is also a freind of theirs. He got beat again when they re ran the cast and he had no complaints about the judging.Without guys like Kevin and Scott stepping up and judging as much as they do,we'd never get a big hunt that size done.Like I said ,those boys don't care who the owner of the dog is,they're gonna judge the dogs the best they can.Kevin might have made a mistake but I can assure you it was not on purpose.I've lost alot of casts under those two boys, but I'll let them judge my dogs anytime.By the way, judging was alot better this year than I've seen in the past.Congrads to all who won and placed, and thanks to all who judged.

That was my dog that got the jump and check in the last 5min of that cast. I was very pleased with my dog and I knew it was going to be close. It would have been interesting if there would have been more time  Brad and Danell did do a good job, they stayed on the dogs better than any of the other cast I was a part of. I was judged fair in every cast that I was in. Jarod judged me in the second round, and he done a good job as well. Thanks to all the judges :)
