Diamond Hi-Energy?
Anyone tried the Diamond food in the red bag that is labeled "Hi-Energy" Sporting Dog Formula?? It is 24% protein and 20% fat.

Same as Todd, same amount winter and summer (as he suggests), I do put warm water on it in the winter to be sure the dogs are getting enough water, they love it that way but in the summer they seem to prefer it dry. I am sold on Diamond after trying everything on the market over the last 40 years. Hare

THINKING OF SWITCHING
I've been using purina dog chow dry for ever, and only now Im noticing problems.......too much waste.......I got a male that constantly eats and Im rationing him and he's always hungry, but he weigh's 36 lb. and looks overweight, but he's active..... the same with my other beagles with the exception of being overweight....... they are always hungry.....I never had this before....and I am seriously looking at diamond the more I read the more I like.

i feed a few bags last winter and the dogs didnt maintane there weight and had loose-runny stoll so i quit feeding it.iam feeding prefessional black and purple bag 30%protein 20%fat and green diamond 26%protein 18%fat they look great sleek coats shiney eyes and have lots of energy that doesnt run out at the end of the day either but there is more waste and boy does it smell iam comparing it to the proplan.the proplan was costing to much to feed.talk to you all later.

We fed the Hi-Energy (purple bag - 24/20) for a period of nine months. We were impressed at how the excess weight came off the hounds.....except it kept coming off. It took about nine months to see that it really wasn't maintaining them. We had to increase portions (more stool & less savings) to maintain weight year-round. We went back to Diamond 26/18 (green bag).
A few years ago I tried it for a month, I was feeding the green bag diamond 26 x 18 at the time but the purple bag loosened up the stools & didnot maintain weight under hunting conditions of 3 runs a week so I went back to the green. I have fed Sportsmans Pride 26 x 18 for about a year now & like it better than anything else.
Diamond dog feed
I stictly think the green bag diamond is far ahead of the purple bag.
