  • I am looking for a good reliable starting pen around eastern Kentucky, I would consider anything within a couple of hours. I am from pike county and we have three pups that need started bad!

It may be about three hours from you, but Tim and Woody Underwood (Father and son) have a starting pen up in Garrison, Kentucky that several friends and I have used in the past with great results. Both guys are class acts, and they take good care of your hounds. They can be reached at 606-757-2372, or at 606-757-9479. Hope this helps.

There is also a guy in Kentucky named Bill Bryant. We've sent a few young dogs to get started and a few older hounds for conditioning and he is AWESOME. I will try to find his number and post it.

I know i should probably call but just wondering if anyone new off the top of their heads what Bill charged to start a pup.

I think it is 3 dollars a day at least it was last year when I was there. Give him a call or leave a message he does a good job.

Bill Bryant charges $3.00 per day per dog.
