WHAT BLOODLINE WOULD YOU START YOUR KENNEL FROM?

Post by chris fuson »

I KNOW THAT ALOT OF THE BLOODLINES GO BACK TO BRANKO....(EX-TURBO,PRIMETIME ETC)ALSO I AM INCLUDING PINE MOUNTAIN STUFF UNDER NORTHWAY. BUT IF YOU HAD TO GO TOMARROW AND START OVER FROM SCRATCH WHAT BLOODLINE WOULD YOU START WITH, WHY WOULD YOU START WITH THE ONE YOU PICK AND NOT A DIFFERENT BLOODLINE....I AM NOT WANTING TO START A BASHING OF BLOODLINES, JUST WANT TO SEE WHAT BLOODLINE IS EVERYBODYS PICK. THANKS FOR YOUR INPUT.

I would go with northway first with Indian hills a close second. Could someone explain the diference in turbo and northway bred dogs. If turbo came from branco wouldn't we call them branco. Not trying to stir troulbe just wanting a little bit of input on this.

I might be a bit bias but I like the Patch hounds, somebody has to love the ugly dogs...
There are many good hounds out there, but the law of averages on these hounds speaks for itself. I mainly look for the ability to reproduce in kind, a hound I can take to the field and enjoy the running, the pleasure of starting a litter and seeing the inbred quality from the ancestors come through as when you plant corn seed, you expect to see corn come up and grow.
This is what Willet handed down and I am eternally grateful...

THE ONLY REASON WHY THAAT I SAID TURBO CAME FROM BRANKO IS BECAUSE TURBO POWERED BY PROP IS STRAIGHT OFF OF BRANKO'S HEL PROP AND THE BOTTOM SIDE ELKS CREEK BLE BABE IS STRAIGHT OFF OF ARMANDO'S LITTLE CONMAN AND CAMP CREEK GERTRUDE........MYSELF I TAKE TURBO AS A DIFFERENT BLOODLINE BECAUSE IT HAS BEEN LINEBRED AND STUFF THAT TO ME MAKES IT DIFFERENT THEN A FULL BRANKO.......BUT IF YOU DO RESARCH TURBO WILL GO BACK TO BRANKO. BUT I STILL THINK THAT THEY ARE DIFFERENT DOGS.....MYSELF I THINK THERE IS A DIFFERENCE BETWEEN TURBO AND BRANKO. JUST DEPENDS ON WHAT YOU LIKE.

most of the pedigrees I have seen lately from the Ky, TN, OH, IN area have all those bloodlines in one. It would not be difficult for example to buy a female pup that has Sock it too me, Branko, Primetime, Indian Hills, and Northway all in 3 gen pedigree. With the exception of Northway, all your kennels are from one geographical area.

Pine Acres, Birch Lake, Woodstock, Mechum's, Green Bay, Blueberry Knoll, Klacking Creek, Maravic's, Woodpont, would be some of the kennels I would be looking in for a pup. I would look for some variety, not just one bloodline. You dont get just one bloodline, so these are some of the names I would look for.

I KNOW THAT YOU DONT JUST GET 1 BLOODLINE, BUT IF YOU HAD TO THEN WHAT WOULD YOU WANT TO START OUT WITH. NOT TRYING TO BE RUDE OR ANYTHING, BUT WHAT YOU YOU WANT TO BUILD YOUR FOUNDATION ON AND THEN GO FROM THERE AS FAR AS MIXING OTHER STUFF IN THERE.

Not that any of the above are bad, but my choice to start a kennel is not among those either.
