i just traded a nice young male with a similar style. on a hard check, he might drift off 75 yards and get another rabbit going. same when you first turn loose. if one wasnt struck pretty fast, he would go til he got one. a high percentage of the time he got the first strike, but i like the dogs to hunt out an area more thorough than he would. that was his only negative to me, but it was big enough to trade him off. i though the would out grow it maybe, but when he turned 2, i decided he had had enough time. too bad, he was a very tough dog, just would range out way to far to make a productive gun dog. guess what im saying is, hope you have better luck than me  .

Do some work with her in the yard in regards to staying close when you call to her and keeping within your comfort zone, then strap on a shock collar and give her some tough love in the field when she gets out of your comfort zone. She's apt to get herself killed if she regularly ventures that far off.

I finally started using a bell for the first time on a dog that kept getting out to far. It is annoying to some but i can tell about where she is and if i cant here her i start callin if she dont come i give her a tap with the collar. Also i found myself calling her and she would be on the way to me but i would get anxioun and tap her. With the bell i can here her coming. I hope to take the bell off soon she is about 14 months.
