Drying up a female

Ive seen it posted on here before but i was wondering if someone could post it again on how they dry up a female coming off pups. thanks.

i have used some stuff called CAMPHO PHENIQUE not shure of the spelling just rubb it all over her tits for a few days it will dry her right up not shure if the champhor is what does the trick or what but i have also seen where guys would hold their water n feed for a certain time frame kinda like a schedual i dont rember exactly what it was but the campho phenique works good n quick jb

No need to rub anything on a bitch who you are weaning puppies from. I usually let them nurse the puppies once or twice a day for a few days and then once the puppies are eating good I remove the bitch. Lower her feed by about 1/2 for 2 days but, do not take away water. Her breasts will fill up but, it won't last long. Just keep an eye on her and wait it out.

Cutting feed won't do anything, a sudden lack of hydration will.
If you put a bench where the bitch can upon to get away from the pups, most will wean & dry up on their own.
A birddog buddy of mine always used the camphor oil, said it made the bitch draw up nice and tight, I don't think the pups liked the taste of it...

thanks for the replys ive just have some females in the past not dry up so good and they look bad with a bag floping around.

try the campho oil it will tighten her right up n ua cant even tell she has had pups dont know how or why it works just know it works n ya dont have to cut no feed back or water either this is from experince not something ya read out of a book jb

1cc penecillian(spelling?) a day for 5 days will dry up milk production.To tighten her teets up,use camphor oil if you can find it or i have seen a chunk of it that you have to melt down to a oil,also a most drug stores they sell a product called spirits of camphor this will work also but make sure that you rub any of this on after you have taken the pups from the bitch.

Here is my plan for drying up mom.. It works for me..

Drying Up Mama:
As the pups get older they will be eating more and more from the pan and will not need to nurse as much. The last few days the pups are with the mama, they may be down to nursing just once or twice a day. As the pressure comes off the amount of feed offered to the mama dog can be reduced back to a normal level.

1: The first day the pups are gone, the mama hound will have a hard time. Her bag will be full of milk. To start her drying up, this day she will get no food or water. She will cry all day but she will live.

2: On the second day, she gets the water back and 1/4 her normal feed.

3: On day three, she gets 1/2 her feed.

4: On day four, she gets 3/4 her feed.

5: On day five, she gets her full feed ration.

At the end of five days her bag will be down and in a few more days she will be dry.

White vinegar works good,put it in a spray bottle and spray her tits down good a couple times a day for a week.

I have done what Caincutter suggest on 6 different litters and it works like a charm.Never had a problem and within a week you could hardly tell the bitch had been nursing at all.
