Krpan's statement re: AKC - DNA Mixup
I just received this e-mail from Frieda Krpan, and she asked me to post this on her behalf. Please keep your comments at a level respectful enough to not cause deletion of the thread. I think we all want to know the outcome of this as it could happen to any of us -- on either end of a situation. Thank you.
Hello Bev
Just receved a call from someone about some posting going on on your board. I don't know my password etc. So I wondered, if I give you the lowdown, if you could put this on for me???
We were informed by the AKC about a possible DNA discrepancy. Unfortunately, their system is geared not to first make sure all avenues of error are explored, rather they go out and do this publicly. At this time, June 19, 2008, we don't really know exactly what is the problem.
It looks like 1) either there is an administrative mixup on our end, or 2) there could be an administrative mixup at the testing agency's end. Should the error be on our end we certainly stand behind our dogs, and will do whatever it takes to see this corrected.
The litter in question: 2 males are in the U.S.,, 2 bitches we still own. Both bitches at home have been DNA tested and we are waiting for the result.
According to the DNA result of one of the males in the U.S. rather than F.C. Branko's One Tuff Ombre coming up as the sire, it comes up as Int. Ft.Ch. Branko's Lumberjack. Most beaglers who know us, would understand that we would NEVER make this error deliberately. The dam in question has had a litter previous both by Tuffy and by Lumberjack. Both are outstanding, so we would have nothing to gain by doing this. We also, have ABSOLUTELY nothing to hide, and as soon as we will know the result, I have no problem going back on this chatboard and inform the world of the result.
I have not read all the postings and have no idea how this was first posted. Suffice it to say this:
Had it not been for ourselves about 12 years ago when Joe Kuklenski of Wisconsin switched dogs and received a 10 years suspension from the AKC as a result, there would not BE DNA testing today. And we welcome DNA testing. We are working with the AKC to see this straightened out. Does this mean we are above making an honest mistake? Of course not, and as stated above, as soon as we know exactly what the results are, we will make them public.

(I might add, if the pup turns out to be by Lumberjack, I can think of about 100 people who would be happy to take it off his hands...lol)

Dear Frieda,
I have NEVER bashed you publicly. Why do you drag my name into your problems? What happened between us was 16 years ago, and to blame me for DNA testing is ridiculus.
Let's get one thing stright right now, I never switched dogs, nor was it proven that I switched dogs. (eventhough the dog I bought from you, I did not recieve the papers on it for over a year!) I would have fought you and the AKC, but I did not want to spend $7,000.00 on a lawyer. I did the sensible thing and took the suspension. You better think before you open your mouth, or your butt will be in court. I was not guilty of switching dogs, I simply entered into a Settlement Agreement with the AKC.
You stated, "People that know us, know we would never do such a thing." We do know you and Yes, we believe you would do such a thing. And Yes, when the AKC was investigating you for a simular sort, we believe you started your kennel house on fire to hide the evidence. The AKC should never let you sell another dog in the US.
To Bev, You stated that the person who originally made this post should have given the Krpans the respect and talked to them directly. How about this????? Frieda bashes me, and she is clueless in her allegations. Not once did Branko or Frieda call me 16 years ago. They did me no respect, when I tried several times to contact them. You let her bash me, but when someone else states a negative fact, you delete the thread........... Bev, we are asking you just to be fair and consistent.
Like I stated Frieda, I never bashed you, YOU DEFINATELY started this one!
WHAT GOES AROUND, COMES AROUND............

Now that's what I'm talking about. Joe let the truth be known. Money says that Branko's post won't get deleted.

Re: Krpan's statement re: AKC - DNA Mixup
You are here to defend yourself, Greenbay, and you are justified in doing so. The accused weren't present on the last go 'round. Days went by and it remained one-sided. Now the Krpan's have made their statement and all parties are present. Replies will be allowed, but I won't allow race, gender, religious or nationality slurs. Speak your mind, but control yourselves.
Now, do y'all WANT this thread deleted, or do you want it to stay? Personally, I don't give a ratt's butt. I just don't like a hyena feeding, like what happened last time. If the thread stands and it gets ugly, don't anyone be private messaging and e-mailing me, giving me the tsk, tsk.
If I have to spend my precious little free time editing this thread for foul language and what not, I WILL delete it.

I'm lost, did the krpan's invent DNA testing?
I too agree with Joe... Not really fair for the Krpan's to single him out with out a phone call...
One last thing, how many times has something like this happened at branko kennels?
Jack

Re: Krpan's statement re: AKC - DNA Mixup
has it been 16 years already? I remember reading an article about this. I think the story read that you used a wire brush to try and remove the tattoo. Am I right about this or is my memory failing???
Re: Krpan's statement re: AKC - DNA Mixup
There was NO wire brush. There was NO tatto. You are really "Farwest" when you mention this kind of BS. Please don't write about something you obvisously know so little about. Bringing up BS like this is why trouble starts!
This thread is about Branko Beagles and their WRONG DOINGS.............. DO NOT BRING ANYONE ELSE INTO THE MIX.
A little advise: If you want a better hound, and a lot better price, BUY AMERICAN.
It is 4:00 A.M. I must leave now, I am off to win a field trial.
