shock collars?
With so many out there, what is the difference in them? On ebay, they list a lot of different ones with lots of variations in price. I know from reading on here that a lot of people like the tri-tronics models. But what is the difference in the less expensive models, most have the same features, but not all, and are a lot less expensive. Does anybody have the Innotek digital advanced trainer shock collar ADV 1000p? They are not priced to bad, and thought that once our dog is trained, it won't be really used that much other than a reminder for her every once and a while. I just don't have a whole lot of money to spend one one of these units, so would appreciate some input, and reasons for or against this collar. Thanks

The biggest Difference is QUALITY!!!
Do a search on here For E Collars and kinda look over some of the posts you Will find lots of info on here..
i have had The Innotek DT Dogtra and TT As Far as I Personally Am Concerned i wouldnt Waste my money on Anything other than TT or Dogtra Ever Again..
My Personnel Preference is the Dogtra But needed a 6 dog unit and Dogtra Didnt make one (not sure if they do yet) So I purchased the 6 Dog G2s BIG investment yes But i went thru 3 sets of innoteck before i bought my Dogtras...
The innoteck Went to pot in less than a year and i Still have my Dogtra (6 years old) still work great..
Warranty Is another big issue!!! Range Ease of use RELIABILITY If you caint trust your Collars Runnin aint much Fun....

Re: shock collars?
In my experience the biggest difference is range and battery life. The Tri Tronics seem to have most brands beat in both, I use shock collars whenever I run my dogs just in case they develop a desire for running trash. It would give you a bad feeling to lose a hound to a deer or moose chase when you have a shock collar sitting in the truck or at home, you may want to consider this when you purchase your shocking system.
You may want to look at a reconditioned unit through the Collar Clinic to buy a better quality unit for the amount you are looking to spend. The only downside to them is that they only have a 6 month warranty compared to the 2 year Tri Tronic warranty.

Re: shock collars?
Tri tronics is probably the best out there, but I can't see paying for it when Sport Dog does all I ask and has a limited lifetime warranty. When it breaks they replace it. My friends collar wasn't working right and they replaced it. My four year old transmitter stopped working and within three days I had a new one free of charge. Hard to beat that.

Re: shock collars?
I personally own Tri-Tronics. I am impressed with their service and upgrades, especially their prompt service. I had a 3-dog Multi-Sport 3. Lost one collar and returned the other 2 for replacement of the third collar. I got a new set back with two-way chargers, instant-on switches, tone option, new charging outlet covers, and a new transmitter, and the third collar all for $170 including shipping from Arizona to Ky. I owned an Innotek once that started acting up about a month out of warranty and Innotek basically said, "sorry bout yer luck." Their units weren't serviceable at the time and they told me that I needed to buy all new stuff at the regular retail price. Their attitudes were a bit obnoxious also. I asked for managers, supervisors, etc. and they were all the same. I have no experience with the Dogtra and others but hear good things. I personally will stay with Tri-Tronics.

Re: shock collars?
Dogtra is the best collar out there for training . Not cheap but very well made stainless steel contacts has the feel that its worth what you payed for it. Tri Tronics is the best all around collar for the beagler needs. Innotek is ok but you get what you pay for, there new ADV are nice.
Re: shock collars?
I got the Tritronics G2 exp. You can put up to 6 dogs on it. I only have two collars for it though. I may get another in the future that way I can control 3 dogs.
I really like it.

Re: shock collars?
sport dog all the way tri tronics dont have the lifetime warrenty sport dog will replace no questions asked
Re: shock collars?
This is perhaps the most expensive option because often times you need to replace your set of dogs each year because your old set wears out on being thrash proof:biggrin:beagler282 wrote:Hey just get you some dogs that don't run trash! That's alot cheaper.
