so swing - are you gonna talk about that big kennel sellout or hide?
as for confusing -  you couldnt confuse my wifes house dog   . you do remind me of a certain someone who always avoids questions asked of him. i think you know who i mean ;) .
why dont you email me swing if you want to be a moron and get off topic here. im sure the guy who started this post doesnt care how many names you can put on a list. im sure he wants to hear real things from people in person. not "i got a friend of a friend" junk.
but i got to go, got a big dog deal to make in awhile. get some more of that junk stuff i keep ;) .

Why would Dale send a pup somewhere else to be started when he starts pups and has his own wonderful pen? Oh I got the papers on Pepper, thank you. Whom ever bought Bus, ask them if they would sell him. I know somebody that wants him REAL bad. Thanks Dawgy

Bob,
I dont know why he did, maybe it was before he had a pen,I cant answer that question. As for me selling out and selling Bus I ended up not doing it.
I was having family problems and was going to let them go, but I have thot better of it.
Why is Joiner so worried about my sell out and why would I be hiding?
And as far as wanting to hear from the people hisself I can give him names and numbers, all he has to do is ask me.

Swing,
I hope things are straight with the family situation now. I was afraid the sellout had something to do with that type of a deal. Any hoot I was wondering now (I'm confused as often is the case) did you or did you not sell Stone Cold and the rest of your hounds? He was the one I was interested in.

You guys might as well save your breath! Some people have a hard time understanding simple things. Most people have the common curtiousy not to publicly belittle other people(expecially if they have no way of defending themselves). The way I see it, if you dont have a big enough set to at least call someone and let them know your dissatisfied then you have no business belittling them in public.
This is about the same kinda deal as the Merle Crain thread that was on here a while back......That to was also totally uncalled for! Im sorry but thats just not right in my book. Merle is not my buddy and I have never delt with him nor have I ever met him.
One thing I do find interesting is that I have seen some people say they hunt 6-7 days a week. I find it odd that they can do so much posting on the boards during those days and still do this. Maybe their "day" of hunting is alot less than what I consider a day. If I didnt have to work during the week I sure wouldnt spend my time sitting in front of a computer tellin how much I hunt......I would be out hunting, but thats just me.

Hey guys I was just asking a question! I didn't do this thread so that you could yell at each other! I am the guy blackdirt was talking about. I had a dog started by Dick and I had to take him out several times to have him open up. I used to use John T. out of Wilmington, but I thought he was out if it.
When I took pups to John T. they would hit the ground running.Yes, same breed as the one I took to Dick.
I am thinking of taking another one to him(Dick) and was JUST WONDERING if that one time was just a fluke.
Seeing all of you knock each other, makes me wish that I never asked the question.

Just curious Mac what is the breeding?
I have seen a dog or 2 that my buddy took to Dick not run their first time out in the wild but after some exposure they showed what all they had learned at the starting pen.

Like I said at the beginning of this discussion. The norm from where I am from is for pups to start in the pen. Me watching them run. Take them out in the wild the very next day and have them sit at my feet. This has happened with every pup I have started in the pens. It usually takes several outings before they get it and go in the wild. The funny thing I have noticed is that a dog started in a pen will cover dogs he started in the pen with. Take them out in the wild and they act like they dont have a clue what dogs are doing. But let the one they started with open and they will cover them in a heart beat. Just my experience.

hi tony- yes we are friends and need to run one of these days. you are right the pups were "cut up" from the pen. looked like they were running hard, but got them back and nothing. i about gave up on them, took them out with just one old dog and finally they did start, but this was 4 and 5 weeks later. now i dont expect much from a pen started dog, but thats wayyyy too long to say they just need a bit of time to settle in. ive also used john torolli in the past and they havent all been keepers, but they all did open on track within a week of getting home. this is the same bloodline also. anyway, i aint gonna argue with swing and aaron (id rather talk to hootie  ), all i did was answer the post.

tony - we need to run soon. im gettin a new truck next week (i hope), then maybe we can get together. how are all your young dogs doing?

aaron - sorry you dont approve of the times i am on here. being off work for awhile, i run when i please and get on here when i please. i dont have a schedule. some days i run at 7am some days it might be 2pm. is there a reason you care? you could send me a sample daily schedule if you like and i will look it over. for the month of december i ran at least 5 days a week and a couple weeks i ran 6 days. i run anywhere from 2 to 5 hours depending on what im doing, such as hunting running my pup, running old dogs, etc. im sure you do it better, but that works for me and my dogs.thanks for your concern. ;) i cant afford an assistant to plan my day, but thanks for your concern pal.

Hey make the score at least 14-3 and that is only counting for mine and my hunting partner's dog not including the other 4 pups that went over out of the same litter at the same time. ALL notice I said ALLpups started and we took the 2 hunting the day we got them back and they were only 6 months old with 1 month in the pens. I am still trying to figure out what this unhappy camper wanted... did you want Dick to keep your dog until you considered it started possibly taking months or did you want Dick to lead your dog around after a san jaun rabbit or maybe take him out of the pen and tease it once a day with a lame rabbit so the pup could get excited and keep up with the rabbit? I am still fairly new but I thought at a starting pen you just give the pup exposure for a month to habitat with rabbits. Do you think he stuck him in pens with no rabbits? Stoney, you wrote in this post:

"Most people have the common curtiousy not to publicly belittle other people".

But on this post below:

http://americanbeagler.huntingboards.co ... php?t=4832

You posted four times in what I would call "belittling" someone on a public forum.

I'm not saying I approve of the subject of that post (Lord knows I've had serious debates with this person too and he dont get any Christmas cards from me to say the least), but I'm not gonna degrade someone on a public medium without being provoked, whether I like them or not.

I aint perfect and know nobody else is either (there aint none perfect but One!), but I just found it odd that you would chastise Brain for his posts when you have done the same, repeatedly??
