Get a thermometer and take her temp twice a day. When it drops a degree from the average she is within 24 hours of delivering. She will also be real restless and be nesting right beforehand. They throw up a bit too from my personal experience.

I suggest taking some time and reading through this website http://www.lowchensaustralia.com/breeding.htm You'll find a wealth of information here. Also remember that you don't go by breeding dates but, rather by conception which of course we have no real idea when that is unless we are running progesterone tests so, be prepared for her whelping at anytime. Feed her small meals at least 3 times a day. Not a lot or more than normal but, just divide it up into 3 meals. Her stomach doesn't have a lot of room right now for food. Get your baseline temps and then watch for a drop to 98 or below.

best of luck!

Scooter good luck with your pups, my little female had her first litter saturday morning, make sure she has plenty of room to deliver her pups. I build mine a whelping box with pig rails, but the only corner that did not have the rails is where she had her pups, when she would get up to move around the pups would get up next to the wall and she would move back to her pups and sit on them, it kept scaring me to death she was going to smoother them, so i ended up having to do some remoldeling after all the pups arrived, Sometimes even the best made plans need some adjustments. I ended up with three nice female pups two tri colored and one chocolate, the only male she had was still born. Mom and pups are doing fine. This was the first litter after many years and to tell the truth I was more of a wreck that my little hound, so have faith in good ole mother nature and things will work out fine.

Congrats on the litter! Just wondering.... it seems likes more males are lost than females in a new litter. Am I just off here or do others seem to find that also? If it's true I wonder why.

I'll break it to you gently... They are the weaker of the sexes! ;-) Natural selection say's that girls are more needed in nature. Males are good for just one thing!! LOL
