Dont start this crap Anderson!!
when you bred the bitch more than ten years ago the deal was return service
that was well before Granppy died you didn't see fit to reuse him at the time
I offered a pup way back then in lieu of a service and you didn't take the offer
Now after v10 or more years when you see apup I have I am expected to Knock of
the price I think not!!!!!
Ive been here for all that time and have not heard a word from you !!!!!!
forget starting your bullshit on this board
and to anyone that does post on this subject This is my last word in it!! so have fun if youy wish!!!

My stud contract states that if no puppies are whelped that the bitch must be bred on the next consecutive season Not 2 or 3 or 10 years later. I would of course make exceptions as long as there was good communication going on. I think your time ran out although what could it hurt to let this person use another stud? Just your dogs time which isn't going to hurt him. Just a thought!

To avoid situations like this I have a way that has worked for me SO FAR.
$200 to breed your bitch...that's my time, my dogs time, the bitches board and aggravation money. Up front!
I will photograph a tie for proof we did our job but I keep the $200 pregnancy or not.
When it's time to sign the litter reg. papers the bitch owner owes me the rest whatever that may be....no returns unless for some reason I want that bitch back.
I'd say you got exactly what you paid for. A STUD SERVICE.

Why not?
$250.00 don't buy squawt. Maybe your beagles aren't worth that kind of money?
I'd pay $250.00 for the right stud or even more.

If you read what the man stated he said he did try to contact the stud dog owner and he would not make it good. I would imagine that the owner of the female tried to contact the stud dog owner as soon as he found out the female did not take as he surely would not wait 10 years to first contact him. The man paid for a service that he didn't receive and he is due something for his $250.00 and he is due it even NOW if he tried to notify the stud dog owner and couldn't. I wasn't there but even if nothing was said about a breeding, I would expect to receive a live litter for my fee. The service he paid for was the impregnating of his female which he did NOT receive. I highly doubt that in any-one's eyes the paying of a stud fee is for your male and my female to have fun. The sole intent is to recreate and if the female did NOT take then the contractual obligation has not been met. Any body who charges for a stud fee and no offspring are produced has not met their obligation of the sole intent. I agree there may be times when the female has problems BUT that's part of the business you are in and something should be seen for the fee that is paid. I have seen many, many stud dog adds that guarantee a live LITTER or return service for as long as the dog lives or a refund. You folks that have all this crap in a contract to get out of the original intent of breeding a dog would not be doing any business with me. If you can't guarantee me something for my money then it appears you are in it strictly for the money and NOT for the purpose of producing a litter. By the way litter means multiparous or more than one.
