Use either 1 baby aspirin or half tablet of Bayer, etc. St. Joseph's is also good as it's easy on their stomach. Be sure NOT to use Tylenol or Ibufrofen- may be hazardous to their health. I usually smear a bit of butter or other fat on the tablet and they should gulp it right down. If it's put in the feed, they may actually pick it out and discard it. If an older dog comes up lame from arthritis, heat is very good therapy. A heating pad works OK if they don't chew but after a hard run I usually bring the old fella in the house to curl up by the woodstove. Pretty nice to have a pot of rabbit stew cooking on the fire with an old beagle sleeping nearby!
