A general forum for the discussion of hunting with beagles, guns, clothing and other equipment and just talking dawgs! (Tall tales on hunting allowed, but remember, first liar doesn't stand a chance)
The only person posting on this subject that I know is Steve. He doesn't need me to stick up for him but I will tell about a dealing I had with him. I got a very well bred 15 inch male from him on trial basis. He told me everything he knew about the dog b/4 I got it, I believe he had taken this dog on a trade but not sure. Anyway I remember he said he had only been able to run it a few times and told me what he saw. I had the dog for the agreed 3 week trial and called him and said I wasn't sure, so if he wanted him back to maybe find another buyer I would do so. He told me if I needed more time go ahead and take it. I did for another 2 weeks. Why did I need that long? He hadn't run many if any hare b/4 I got him so Steve told me to run him as long as I wanted and let him know what I thought. He didn't fit in with what I run but everything Steve had told me about the dog was right on, to a tee. He took the dog back and even had somebody else waiting to see if I was going to keep it and never told me that fact till he got it back. I would believe this man and take his word. OK by the way in case you have read this far and thing I'm some friend of his sticking up for him I have met him once in my life a few years ago at a trial. We have talked dogs on the phone a couple of times, the above mentioned dog was moved back and forth by a mutual friend traveling between us. " Another Yank that doesn't want to drive thru Kentucky" Hare
Never met Steve but sounds like a good guy to me even if he is from Michigan.
Edit: I will hold judgement on the other party and see how this pans out. It's a shame people have to bring this to open forums just to get payed.

I am sorry for the quote I made. I was very upset when I found this matter on the fourm and the response form the other people who don't even know me. This problem is between Steve and I. This is the last post from me about this matter. I hope this situation is worked out and like I said. I am sorry for the comment. It was type out of anger. Tim
I usually don't reply to these kind of posts, but the Yank statement changed my mind. Steve I think he gave you ammo with that post. I would go over his superiors head and go straight to the governor of the state of Kentucky with that post to show the possible corruptness in that county. That kind of thinking has no place at that level of law enforcement, much less at any level. I have always taken the approach to get to know someone before I make any kind of judgement on their character, but with that said, I don't think Steve is the one making an a-- out of himself. Considering his profession, I would hate to see how he would react to a real crisis under pressure, with the reaction he showed with time to think and type! Why would anyone wait six months to complain about a hound that you had to tip the box over to get it out? And for the record, I don't know nor have spoken to either man.
I usually don't post anything on a topic like this. But I have to say that Tim Humble has been up front and honest with me. I had never met Tim before, and went down and watched a female run that he had for sale. We took her out and watched her hunt and run for about 3 hours. He told me everything he knew about her. I bought her that day, and she has been everything Tim said she was. I have owned her over a year now and she keeps getting better. I just have to say even in dealings I have with Tim since I bought the dog, he has always been honest. The situation with the pup is between him and Steve. I don't think it is fair to judge a person without knowing them.

to tim humble. your deal with me, in case you forgot, let me remind you, was to meet me at so and so place and at so and so time so you could pick the dog up from me...... i was there at so and so time. called several times no answer. waited and waited, no answer. called some more......still no answer. got ahold of chad and told him that i have been waiting for you but you wouldn't answer my phone calls. well five minutes later, you call me and say you can't make it. i drop the dog at ron's, to save a you a couple hours drive(thanks ron) for you to pick up. just thought i would remind you of your deal with me.
I sure hope all this gets worked out. I like to think that Kentuckians are the some of the better fellers this Ol country has to offer. I hate it when one of our own gets a bad spot and jeopardizes the whole barrel. As for Mikkelson if everyone doesn't know I don't think he is a flatlander at all

Steve,
He lied to me also. Below was the add put on here by his friend Chad, some time back. I contacted Tim, and set up a time to come and buy the female. He was going to let me try her for a week. We set all this up the night before on the phone. I had to take off work early the next day, to meet him. I was walking down the sidewalk at home to get in my truck when Tim calls me and tells me he is going to keep this female. I couldn't believe it. He also told me that if he changed his mind, and decided to sell her again, he would for sure, give me first opportunity to buy her. A few days latter, he sold her to a guy that lives in the same county that I do. I guess Deputy Humble didn't think I would ever find out. I called him a few months latter,(finally got him to answer the phone)and asked him about the female that he sold the guys I know. His response was, "I sold those guys the mother to the female you wanted, she was 6 years old". Its a funny thing to me that they got a 2 year old, just like advertised below, with the same pedigree. He kept saying it was her 6 yr old mother, like I wouldn't know they got the 2 yr old.
Here's the original add Line bred sock it to me on top and bottom. Tri colored and around 14 inches tall. Very very hard hunting and good jump dog. She will be 2 in August I believe. I am posting this for a friend. I have ran the dog for him several times. She is very hard hitting and has to have the front. A little too rough for AKC but she has never been soloed. It may calm her down a bit. I don't run arha but If I did I would buy her. She has tons of hunt. Just turn her loose and she will find a rabbit if your with her or not. Never ran deer or foxes to my knowledge. Collar broke. Just tone her if she is not listening and she will hurry in. Contact Tim Humble for full pedigree. Try her all you want. 650$ Call Tim at 859 661-5234 Richmond Ky. I have ran her for the past couple of months so call if you have any other questions call me. Chad Peercy 859 661-2171 or 859 608-2520

I may not have stated what I meant in my early post on this subject. Tim and I did some trading and he told me the truth about the dog that I bought from him ( Humble's Bluegrass Brownie ) and I am sorry that it took so long for the deal with Steve and Tim to be taken care of but I still have the up most regard for Tim and Tim I apologize. I was not bashing your name just stating that our officers should be honest people that we all can trust. Again sorry Tim because this was between you and Steve and should have stayed that way. Hang in there.
