New to forum

Post by Squirrel_Hunter_Gray »

Hello Everyone:

I am new to the forum. My fiance, Beth, and I hunt Treeing (aka Mountain) Feist dogs for small game. We primarily hunt squirrels and rabbits with our dogs but throw in coons and gamebirds for kicks!

Anyone else on here have feist dogs? That they run on rabbits?

My first dog when I was a kid was 1/2 Beagle and 1/2 American Foxhound. His name was Tippy and he sure had a mouth!

I have enjoyed browsing the beagle information on here so far. Beth and I like beagles and are considering getting into them someday.

welcome to the site, I don't have any fiest, but my rabbit hunting buddy has this little hound that looks like a rat on acid, don't know exactly what she is but she looks like a beagle/ wa-wa mix, she'll run a rabbit and anit afraid of the briars, when she gets excited she sounds like a rooster. her name is mini-mae she was found on one of our canals as a tiny pup and buddy be the good hearted one took her in. you can hear mini for miles when she lets loose that crazy tongue. she 220 volts for sure.

I've seen you over on the squirrel dog boards, and checked out your website.
I was sorry to read about you losing a dog last fall.

I go by SilverZuk on all boards (beagle, squirrel, coon, 4x4, etc).

Thanks for the welcome everyone. Also, I appreciate your kind comments about our dogs and website.

SilverZuk:

I recognize you from other forums too :D

Thank you very much for your condolences about Trigger. He has been missing since Dec. 14 and it is still hard for me to look at pictures of him...

Thanks for the welcome!

We have a wide variety of color in our feist dogs but we can tell you the lines each of the patterns came from. One of the lines in our dogs is Cadillac Jack. The dog the line is named (SGSQCH Bates' Hystyle Cadillac Jack) after was black and tan and reproduced black and tan. Our female's dam was Cadillac Jack bred top and bottom and she was black and tan.

I could go on with the other colors but I don't want to bore you!
