Bluetick Beagles

Post by Hare Hawk »

I was wondering if anyone knew how the bluetick color got into beagles? This is an honest question. Until this board I had never seen a bluetick or a lemon colored beagle. Most of the dogs that I have experience with were tri-color. Was this color combination brought in by crossing beagles with larger hounds? Thanks for your replies.

Go to http://www.lanelinebeagles.zoomshare.com lots of info, go to bloodlines check out "Blue Cap". I also searched a little further than that and found in Wales and Southern Ireland they had "Blue Mottled" hounds, this may have been their origin, I'm still looking deeper.
