We think it is bad now, but wait. I was talking to a lady that works at Wally World Corp. and she said walmart is bracing for a recession. She said to be on the look out for food prices to increase at least 32% this year. And if that wasn't good enough, the guy that buys cereal for KVAT (Food City stores) said cereal will be up 57-60%. If food and cereal grains are up, the dog food will be as well. And of course corn is out of site. I sold tons of corn bagged and delivered for $140 last fall. Now I am paying $208 by the truck load. And that is before you figure in a 3% loss for drift (dust and waste). It's gotta slow down somewhere, but I don't think it will stop any time soon. I even thought about switching to cheap "junk" dogfood to save some $$$$, but I figure by the time I feed an extra 3 or 4 pounds daily, I won't save much and the dogs will show it. BTW back to dog food... I am paying $18.50 now. In the fall it was $16.20. :angryfire:  :angryfire:  :angryfire:

The drought may have something to do with it, but it is the oil companies buying corn to make biodiesel. Again we get screwed. My horse feed went up over eight dollars a bag in the last years. We pay it or starve. Oil companies run the world.

On CNBC, the Oil Co.'s in the US have already said, " a recession in the US will not effect them on price, India & China are in an industrial revolution and they will pay whatever price as they demand it...the same goes for food. They want to correlate the price of oil to the Euro and get away from the dollar as the value unwinds.
As the World picks up pace and in some ways passes the US, they want the same things you do and "He who holds the purse strings is BOSS"
Don't worry about the effect of buying foreign products and the result to the American economy, financial advisors are recommending 30 to 40% of investments should be in foreign market to keep pace with inflation/an offset the recession.
I said a good while ago, "pull in your horns and hold on", you now compete with the world, this is global one world economy coming on and we may not be the ones beating the drum... :(

The only thing that hasn't went up around here is "road kill" and the hounds are still eatting well... ;)
The problem now is, getting the wife back in a conservation type mindset and the kids, oh the poor kids, they've never seen or had to deal with anything like this. Will surely be the cruelest of times and no doubt some type of support group will have to be set up for counseling. To them, they will surely be able to talk about the "good ole days" to their children... ;)

Wait until you have to pay $5 for a loaf of bread. Everyone is making corn now instead of wheat and other grains... So they will be in short supply and will drive the price for that up too.

Send all the illegal immigrants home and stop shelling out $358 billion in free stuff for them. That will help. Take all the stuff out of CRP and quit paying farmers tens of thousands of dollars to not plant their propteries with crops. Let them fill their fields with crops and we won't have a shortage of anything. They can make their money the old fashioned way, earn it instead of it being given to them buy the govt!
Be ye kind one unto another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you. Ephesians 4:32

I feed Black Gold black bag. Mine went from $16.00 a bag to $19. 00 a bag in about three weeks. I love the black Gold though. It takes less feed to maintain them and I have less waste to clean up.
