Abortion Shot .......

lets hear everyones opinion that has used the abortion shot ..
I have used it on 4 different dogs in my 25 yrs of beagling and havent had either 4 that had side effects or problems with heat cycle afterwards.
My vet said they are safe. So those who have experience with this ,lets hear your facts.

used it on a coon hound --she came in just before world hunt --it screwed her up for over [[2]] yrs. mind and her female side ---maybe they have something better now this was 4yrs. ago

Used it for a beagle who was about 1 yr old last month..no side effects so far. She continued to run like before with no problems. Don't know yet if her cycle will change/or problems until she's due again, but our vet said there shouldn't be any problems.

I have only used it once a beagle got hooked with a boxer
my beagle didnt come in heat for a year and a half but that was the only side effect i saw,before that she was a twice a year cycler

I was wondering how far along can you still give her the shot, to abort the litter? In case I need to have it done sometime.

im not sure but i think within 24 hrs. after the tie.

The quicker the better, I had a bird dog get hooked with the neighbers dog and didn't find out about it for 2 weeks, the dumba-- didn't tell me he had seen the tie take place until then go figure she was only 8 months old so I took her to the vet and he gave her the shot he said it may take it may not but she did have one live pup and 6 that weren't formed so I'm not sure if it was from the shot or if it was just gods way.
