A general forum for the discussion of hunting with beagles, guns, clothing and other equipment and just talking dawgs! (Tall tales on hunting allowed, but remember, first liar doesn't stand a chance)
Well Me and my brother have been away for a while from the beagling community and I thought I would just share what the smith bros. were up too lately.... Enjoy

No shortage here.... We have been die hard beaglers our entire life until I let a hound go on a yote... You want to talk about a race.... More poor beagles look at me every time I come out to the pen like this is going to be the time... But I seem to open the big hounds doors and away we go.... I can't say I've ever had more fun with hounds in my life, I really really loved beagling but this is a whole knew world....

Yes we have had hounds catch them and bay them up on just about every hunt.... Our oldest dog is 18 mo I belive so we don't have a lot of expierence. They struggle to hold them so we can get in on the bay up site. I imagine as they get older they will get wiser. For the most part its just like a big rabbit hunt once the yote is up and moving. Drop the dogs on the track and let the action begin. My dad leg shot one with a rifle last weekend and our dog caught it several times and was fighting it. One guys slipped in with his pistol but couldn't close the deal. We ended up shooting him on the next road across the section.
