A general forum for the discussion of hunting with beagles, guns, clothing and other equipment and just talking dawgs! (Tall tales on hunting allowed, but remember, first liar doesn't stand a chance)
VERY nice looking spot. Say, you don't need any help down there chasing bunnies, do ya? I know a pack of hounds that would love to run that! And we could probably be there in just a couple hours --or less

Looks like a lot of places I hunt.
As far as killing rabbits, it doesn't matter.
Hunters make very little difference on the rabbit populations. Read all you can on the subject. In some instances populations are better off with a nearly complete kill. It starves the predators out in the winter, and the rabbits repopulate with little predatation during the spring and summer. It only takes a few rabbits to make a lot during the summer.
That male has a nice head, especially his stop.
He looks similar to a gip I have that is bred Brights Spirited Buddy (paycheck) on top and Ole Bad Cliff on the bottom.

Makes sense SilverZuk, I have heard others say rabbits come in cycles, if thats true were overdue here in Bell Co. I know that our population has declined big time over the last 5 years. Used to run a rabbit anywhere you dropped on our strips, not anymore. Does seem to be alot more hawks, foxes and yotes .
Do you pack a gun when your running dogs? If seasons in i do, killed a fox and two bob cats last season. Dogs go in a patch and start running a rabbit and out they come. To bad it wasnt on the same trip that would have made a great pic. Looks like it would hold grouse too.
