Rick G wrote:sorry but I dont have the bags, as I fill rubbermaid containers with the feed. I'll have to explain again.... Never had this problem before a month or so back....dogs eat it up and show no other bad signs......Yes, dogs do go more often when running and being hunted, no matter what the food you feed, as they clean themselves out due to the exercise as do humans....Mine are going like that in the kennel as well.......
I hate to do it but this week I will be changing brands of feed. I will keep all posted of my results after a week or so with the new brand....Dont have a clue what it will be. Here in NY dog food prices are crazy...Im paying $23 for 40lbs of diamond adult (green and yellow bag), and its one of the cheaper feeds but Ive felt in the past it was of great quality. This sucks!

For the houndsman who switched feed right away....how are your hounds stool now?
Wow $23.00 a bag, guess im lucky... I get mine for $17.00 a bag.

Feed a couple of bags of the Exceed Lamb and Rice in the pink bag and you'll never change again. I USED to feed Diamond, never again even if it was free. I give away all the dog food I win at trials.

I use to feed diamond and I really liked it.
But they kept having recalls. So I changed to Purina Hi Pro
My buddy still feeds it and said he is having no noticable change in his dogs. I told him to keep a eye on them to see if he notices any changes.

I feed the Diamond Naturals Chicken and Rice, never had a problem. No matter what you switch to stay away from any corn and by-products in the ingredients.

We fed diamond and had the same results you mentioned. Now we feed CMF ... which dog food is going up again this week about 35 cents a bag. I will still feed CMF .. worth every penny. Diamond's waste and the smell of the waste was more than I could bare.

Thanks all for your input. Last night at work I talked to a guy who had the same problem with diamond. I know there are a few quality feeds, but as i said earlier, here in the land of taxes, our feed prices are very high. So im not sure what I gonna switch to. Price will have alot to do with it, and more so locality, and easy access to it. Ive gotten alot of praise for the sam's club feed, so thats the way im leaning today, but I will be hitting a few feed stores this after noon..... I should be happy that it wasnt a worse health problem.....Sad, I dont think they will want me in their "champions Club" anymore...lol Thanks again guys!

I just switched to the 24-20.Dogs really like it and stools are fine.Sounds like you got a bad batch..WOuld be interesting to see if others from that lot of feed also had problems.Feed prices must be high in NY .I am paying 16.80 for 50lb at tractor supply.

Bill, I go through a 44lb bag a week here. So it has to be more of a problem than a bad batch. I noticed the change in stool about 7 weeks back, thinking worms. Seven or so bags later problem is still here.
Our prices are very high here. We have almost 9% sales tax, so my cost is just shy of $23. As I said before, Ive fed diamond since around 99 or 2000, and had great results with it. Its just not working for me. By no means am I trying to tell anyone not to feed it. If it aint broke dont fix it!
Here's a funny note, looked at some different feeds yesterday at petco......some brands were $31 to $45 for a 37lb bag! If thats what I'll have to buy, I'll be putting together a pack of rabbit running Chauwauwa's, they look like they dont eat alot, but it wont be pretty on the bench!

I havent had any problems with my hi-energy i think its like 20fat and 24protein...i get a 50IB. bag for 14 dollars and some odd cent but use to get it $13 right on the dot last year but all feed has went up...some of my dogs use it more than others-one of my females only uses it once a day then another her kennel is full of crap everyday i clean it out and i cant keep weight on her at all but all the rest of my dogs u couldnt ask for them to hold it better than they do---which she is a younger dog and is hyper as idk what so that has alot to do with it

I have fed Diamond in the past and the green bag 26-18 was a very good dog food. I tried feeding the 24-20 Diamond and that dog food is a disaster. Never consistent and the stool from my dogs was horrible.
