I am a builder, have my own company called Burns Built Homes in middle TN.

I have always hunted growing up...deer, turkey, duck and birds. Growing up w/ my Dad we raised birds dog and quail hunted and I feel in love w/ hunting over dogs. When I got out of college I wanted to get some dogs to hunt w/ and the quail population was just about non-existence so I decided to try beagles and have had beagles now for 8 years.

Emery, nothing to be jealous about. Turns out she favors blueticks and I am a lemon/white kind of guy. We haven't let it come between us and a happy marriage, though. Good women have all different kinds of interests. The only thing they have in common is that they are few and far between. I don't know how mine does what she does. She works in an ICU, and sees people die on a regular basis. She comes home and cries some, and then goes about her business. I think that fishing and hunting are her safety valves, like mine. We both know very well that God made all of this and we feel closer to Him when we are away from what man's hands have made and closer to His handiwork. fNo wonder the whole world is so in a hurry and stressed all the time, they never learned patience from starting pups or making a thousand casts into a creek trying to catch lunch. Everyone that has posted on this thread should and probably does count their blessings. In spite of how bad we sometimes think life is, we witness whole lifetimes of our hounds many times over as we age and it makes us more aware of our own short lives. Life is good for beaglers, and no matter what we do for a living, when we step out of that truck and put the briarproofs on we are all the same in a lot of ways.

I'm a X-Ray processor service technician.I have a service / maintenance route throughout middle Tennessee calling on hospitals, podiatrists, chiropractors, doctor's offices, veterinary clinics and occasionally the Nashville zoo,a maximum security prison and the largest breeding facility for Tn.Walking Horses. If they've got x-ray I go.
Grew up in Massachusetts hunting everything that could be hunted. My Dad and a couple of his buddies had beagles and I got started there as a little kid.Out of high school moved to Martha's Vineyard island and got into the water dogs [Labs ] as it was big time duck and goose hunting on the Atlantic Flyway.
Moved to the mountains of New Hampshire in the early 70's and developed a hard core addiction to tree hounds using them on coon, bobcat and bear for over 20 years. As I got into my mid 40's couldn't handle being in the woods until whenever and get up at 6:00 for work the next morning so got out of the night hunting and returned to my "first love" the beagles.
I run year round, gun hunt in season and go to just enough trials to make sure I still have a sense of humor.
Rabbit hunting is the only hunting I do these days. Sitting in a tree waiting for a deer just doesn't do it for me like hearing my hounds just a hammerin one!!!!!!!!!!!

I am now 60 years old and still go run any time i can, i now have 12 beagles, also run some nkc little pack trials now and then. I got my first beagle at 6 years old from my uncle.love to run any time give me a call.
beagle trials are ment to be enjoyed , they should be fair to the best of the honest oppinion

I'm a jack of all trades and a master of none. I entered the Army when I was 18 and spent 9yrs. Went to work in a papermille as an apprentice millwright. Worked their for 14 yrs. then we had a strike. I then joined Ohio National Guard, and worked full time in the maintance shop as a painter, camoflage every peice of equipment in state of Ohio. I'm now retired and run beagles 7 days a week, babysit my grandsons and enjoy every minute of it. I started in to coonhunting when I got out of the service, then my son got me into beagles. Now my oldest grandson found his hunting nitch and we just bought a squirell/coon dog. My second grandson is my hunting and fishing buddy anytime I want to go. My third grandson is just paw paws boy, not old enough yet. But my family is my life, and I'll just enjoy it as much as the Lord allows me.
To old to cut the mustard, you can always run beagles

Since we are talking about occupations and lifestyles, different branches of our military have been mentioned, and it is only fitting to thank all of you who are in active duty, reserve or retired for your service to our country. You set aside a part of your lives while the rest of us were going about our daily lives, working, running hounds, hunting, etc. in order to allow us to sleep better at night. Thank you from the bottom of my heart, and my family's as well.

Im a underground coal miner. I have been around hunting dogs all my life. I take the love of outdoors and dogs from my dad. I can remember back about 32 years ago when I was only 6 years old, holding onto dad's coat tail going up the side of a hill towards a little bluetick mixed fiest that had a squirrel treed. I remember begging to go coon hunting with Him. It seems like we walked all night every time I went. I was cold tired and miserable, but I loved it. My dad is 72 now and he still coon hunts some. I take him rabbit huntin now. I'm trying to get Him to trade them walkers for rabbit dogs ,but he only laughs. Hunting dogs bring back so many memories. God bless everyone.

Retired from 21 years of service in the Marine Corps. Now I'm a Manager of a Hardware store. I had beagles as a kid and have just gotten back into them. My hobby for most of my adult life was shooting trap.

I work in residential construction. My dad had beagles when I was younger but I grew up around fox hounds in the late 70's. Used to drive me nuts sitting in school on those blue bird days with a fresh snow knowing that my dad uncle and the neighbors were out running fox. In the eighties the fox got mange and pretty much wiped them out. during the 90's i was a avid slowpitch softball player but still had a beagle to hunt with. Now my dad is semi retired and I have a couple of young kids so we have got into beagling pretty heavy and started trialing. If I didnt trial I would probly have a couple of dogs for hunting but around here nobody will let you on there land because your going to scare there deer away.
