I don't see the need to jump shoot. My hounds run me bunnies and I shot them after they have been circled, if they hole up then oh well. It shows when you go to fun runs, trials, etc. how much you jump shoot when your hounds get tired before the ones who have been circling rabbits before they get shot at. Different strokes for different folks.

thats not my style, i am a true hounds men, killing game is second after a good race. and being this is a beagle site, not a killtherabbit.com i will voice my opion just like every one else.
hahaha good one... I don't like to jump shoot either, but joey's dog went into a brush pile and worked her butt off and I think that dog deserves a rabbit. If he hadn't shot that rabbit like that, then she would have went in there and worked her tail off for nothing. Have I jump shot, yes I have, I am betting every one has in their life and if they deny that they are lying. I believe if the dogs are working hard, and your hunting in crappy conditions, then helping out the hounds while rabbits are doubling back on your hounds and its difficuilt to run them rabbits, its ok to help out your hounds to get some fur in their mouths.... I have never went out and jump shot every rabbit. I do like a good long run as well, where hounds have to do their best to keep that rabbit moving...but not every run is like that. Just my .02 cents
Go ahead and voice your opinion, but you should be a gentlemen about doing it, and not cutting someone short on their way they hunt.... A true houndsmen wouldn't call another houndsmen a loser.

I agree a lot more pounding the ground and more holding off the trigger just to beableto say we got 8 today ,and who can eat that much rabbit any how .You can make a dog with out killing every rabbit you run or jump shoot .If you have to kill go shoot crows or yotes or some thing get your thirst quenched by killing some of them ,atta boy flint river

Never met a houndsmen (beagles) yet that was a jump shooter. That's what separates us from the common folk. Just my two cents.
Joey's posts and Cornetts post always makes me wonder.
But, to each their own and it's a free country.
I have jump shot before, but don't do it much... I agree I do like a full circle on a rabbit before shooting...so we do agree on that... I also think that people shouldn't cut someone down because of their ways of hunting... If its legal its legal... I'm not gonna look down on joey for doing that.... Now if he did something that was illegal I would be the first to say something...
I've put my hounds down with some of the best and they haven't dissapointed so for my dogs to run with some of the best then you dang right I want to listen to them run rather than ending a race before it starts.
I have hunted with Joey for about 4 years, met him & his father rabbit hunting no I don't jump shoot kill three so far this year will get my twevel for the freezer that are limit in the refrigerator before the year is out,Joey does hunt as hard as is hounds he likes to shoot is game that hounds are chasing I myself like to watch & listen & shoot occasionally Joey don't kill more then is limit he is a safe hunter so when you see them rabbit on the tail gate his dad his brother his friends& that rabbit in the brush pile that he shoot that dog wouldn't get out of it so like I said Joey hunts as hard as is hounds the end like I said remember when
Nice pictures and videos Joey. Please don't let a few sour grapes keep you from posting pictures-I'm sure many on here enjoy seeing them. I really see nothing good coming from criticizing the backbone of beagling-THE HUNTERS. As long as it's all done legally, go for it. Some of the haters need to quit scanning the boards to find the next post to bash and go run/hunt their own dogs-feel free to post some pics while you're at it.

yeah thats what i am a hater!!!!!!!! u have no clue what i am about, and i have better thingd to do then get fired up about this. jump shoting isnt about beagling. on day joey will learn a learn a hard leason. either from jump shoting, or letting hounds pile into a brush pyle.
