They are hosting a wild game dinner and need 25 rabbits for the occasion. They are raising money to send care packages to Iraq. I've got some young first timers, and some not so young first timers, it should be a blast, I will not forget my camera this time.Brian.

Ron, thanks for the invite, but I'm going to Homer on Saturday. I need a third place or better to finish my young male to HBCH, maybe next time.

Jim, glad you had fun. We went back there on Sunday and it took 1 1/2 hours to jump one. When we finally did it ran for almost 2 hours so it made up for it, covered a lot of ground. There is alot of season left, so give us a call when you are ready to go again, see you at Homer.

Bill, thanks for the advice, I think it's time to break out my polypros and my mad bomber hat. Brian.

Well we made a day of it, started at 8:30 am finished up around 4 pm. It was definately tough running but my little female kept them going pretty good. We ran 12 rabbits total, shot 4 of them, shot at a few others but the boys with pumps couldn't connect. I remembered the camera but my picture taking is as bad as my shooting, here's one anyway. We fell a little short of our goal, anyone wanting to donate some to the "Hunters who care" cause let me know, they are having their dinner next Saturday the 28th at the VFW hall post 822 in Flint Mi. if anyone is interested. Brian.

Is that single shot a New England 20 gauge? If it is I've got one just like it. I got it for christmas when I was a kid and I still use it.

What's the info for Hunters Who Care. I don't have any to donate right now but would be more than willing in the future.

Yeah that's a NEF 20 from Walmart $82 out the door, you can't beat them, I drilled and tapped it and put the sling on it, My brother on the end in picture has one just like it, cut off in picture though. I've shot at alot of rabbits with it, even managed to connect a few times over the years. I don't have all the info on the "Huters who care" group, just found out about them. They are on their 9th year for the dinner and they say it keeps getting bigger each year. Each year they pick a cause and donate the proceeds. Last year it was for the cystic fibrosis foundation. I do know they are good people that took me to their spots to run my dogs, so I was more than happy to help out. They usually have elk, moose and any other game on the menu, but they are lacking in donated meat this year. Hopefully in the future I can get something on here sooner and help them out.

Always willing to help out if I can. Giving something back is a good thing.

We don't live that far apart, we should get together and run dogs sometime.

Hello, I have been watching this post with interest, and after seeing the thing about the "bisquits and gravy" on the first page, I've decided I want in!!! :D This fat boy loves bisquits and gravy almost as much as I do running dogs! I have two young males right now that I'd like to run with you guys. I can be reached at 313-291-9171. My name is Bill Ennis. Thanks.

Hi Keena, glad to see you finally got on. Pacer ended up 2nd in his cast, he was behind by 15 points and got a strike ahead of the dog leading him, which put him 10 points ahead but they ran the rabbit for 15 minutes and we never seen it.Time ran out so there was no credit for the last strike. He ended up with 437 1/2 plus, and the other dog had 452 1/2 plus. It was close right to the end and good running. The little female that won did a nice job working out the tough checks, I would say the best dog won, even though I don't want to admit it. Brian.

Boy, that would be disappointing not seeing the rabbit...all part of the game though, huh? But, 437 1/2 points that is awesome! It sounds like it would have been really exciting at the end...kind of like a a great football game, lol! I think there is something special with a good female; just like your Ruby. K
