three dogs in the cast. At the end of the hour the score was 25 to 25 to 25. one dog had a minus and a positive so it was out. the other two was tied with a check a piece

Do you ever award hunt and handling in a finals?Wilson Creek Cody wrote:three dogs in the cast. At the end of the hour the score was 25 to 25 to 25. one dog had a minus and a positive so it was out. the other two was tied with a check a piece
I am not picking on anyone.........I know how hard it is to judge and keep track of all the rules, not to mention the toll it takes on your body. I am just curious how the LP rules are.
Thanks!

Re: greensburg field trail (home cookin)
Randy, The rule until 07 was after 1 hour the Judge picked on Hunting and Handling. After the Rules meeting it changed to 15 minute overtime when running for 1st place at a hunt. The Judge made an Honest mistake, which could have been protested and won. A honest mistake is not cheating!!
Billy no doubt about it made a mistake. The thing is if he were cheating he wouldnt pull something that could have been protested and won.
Modock, Yes you should have gotten 15 more minutes. Would you have won, I dont know.
Im not part of any click. I have been to Greensburg twice. Billy judged me once at the Little World Hunt in 06, I dont think I have ever judged him. I must say to be such a nice guy your post topic makes you look like a PRICK.

Re: greensburg field trail (home cookin)
Look guys Im sorry if I offended anyone. I was just mad at the time and thought it was unfair. I am not the kind of guy who want to have a bad rep on these kind of things. Im am sorry if I upset anyone and I hope all this can be resolved. I am sorry If it seemed like I was two face and I am wrong, like I said it was just anger and I didnt know I was going to offend as many people as I did. Hopefully everyone can accept this apology I was just angry at the time.
Thank you..
Thank you..
Re: greensburg field trail (home cookin)
hey guys modock really means this apology and just wants this stuff resolved, he knows that billy made an honest mistake which we all do make mistakes, it was all out of billies hands once we got back to the club, he was just there judging and doing his job, which i thought he did a good and fair job. he only felt that the dogs deserved a fair chance after we found out the correct rules. good or bad he would have been more satisfied i believe. Thanks Shawn
Re: greensburg field trail (home cookin)
It seems i recall Steve .modoc. being called a nobody in one of the earlier post. I think after reading all the negative post when a person attends for the first time you automatically have a mindset that says be ready for some buddy judging. I think Steve is young enough he could judge in the future. I think that no one can erase that mindset by everyone telling this youngman how ignorant he maybe. Steve may have made a mistake but so did the judge right. I dont think its just this club the general feeling is either get in or get out. So by being a nobody you have to work your way up Steve to be somebody.lol But you had probably been told that before you went.Yes that is the perception fellows rather you like it or not.

Re: greensburg field trail (home cookin)
did modock bring up the 15 minute overtime at the clubhouse?
what i can't understand is why the moh did not step up and make them run the 15 minutes.
if nothing was said, and you all just left, then modock happened to think of it,well, sounds like you all made an innocent mistake.
obviously, the judge made and innocent mistake, and if modock did not say anything to the moh, well, too bad,you screwed up,but,if modock did insist for the overtime, why did he not get it?
did he ask for an overtime at the club or not?
i can't see why no one caught it.but,no one is perfect.

score was tied 25 to 25 a check a piece.i say we just forget about this and move on everybody at the hunt knows what happened and it was settlted at the club house between the judge the master of hounds and the handler everybody shook hands and everything was fine we we left the hunt, its settled end of story.

Thanks Mike! That made sense to me. I had never ran LP that much so I wasnt sure how the rules were.mike crabtree wrote:Randy, The rule until 07 was after 1 hour the Judge picked on Hunting and Handling. I agree the way this guy titled this post is what caused the stir. It sure dont sound like anyone got cheated....just an honest mistake and the guy said he was sorry...I mean what more can the judge do? We are all human.
Take care,
Randy

Re: greensburg field trail (home cookin)
I judged a cast last year it was the finals and it came back tied and i went to hunting and handling. My mistake.Everyone signed the scorecard and went back to the clubhouse happy, but when we got there a member of the watchdog committee was the MOH and he mentioned i made a mistake as soon as he did i knew i did they are very easy to do.HOWEVER we had to go back and run the extra 15 minutes nothing changed in the results but WE HAD TO RUN THE EXTRA 15!!!
Re: greensburg field trail (home cookin)
Quit crying, its as much your fault as it was the judges, all you had to do was not sign the scorecard. Don't get on here and cry about it and try to make a club look bad.

I am sure I need to keep my mouth shut but I just wanna add my two cents worth but I am sure it amounts to less than 1 cent.
I don't agree with the title to the thread as I am sure there was no home cooking. I have seen it and this ain't it. A mistake was made and apparently everyone left the club in good shape.
Now here is the problem I see. You have a beginner come to a club for the first time. Doesn't know the rules, and admits this is his first trial. Where is the support he should have had from the gallery or the other handlers when this mistake was made. Surely all the others are veterans and KNEW the rules and could have stepped in and had it discussed before this young man signed the score card. You know, one of those take a beginner under your wing and help him out sort of thing.
It's done and over. Forget about it. The only fault I find is with the folks who didn't step up to the plate to help this beginner out. But, that is also water over the dam. Support your club, support young beaglers, and make folks wanna come back to your club and compete.

Re: greensburg field trail (home cookin)
Got a question?? This is in reference to what danny vansickle and taylorskennels wrote about going ahead and running the 15 minute overtime after all was back to the club. This is just a simple question for my own knowledge and for future reference. I was under the impression that once the card was signed and back to the club, nothing could be done after that. If this is not true then a lot of people dont understand or know it. It was discussed back at the club and that is where billy found out he had made the mistake and made his appology to those from the cast along with everyone still at the club. If I am not mistaken, everyone there thought since the card was signed nothing more could be done. Taking them back out and running the 15 minute overtime would have been the best and fairest thing to do as long as it does not break more rules. I can guarantee you that billy would have loved the opportunity to correct his mistake like that and would have not been upset or offended if he had been told that was what he had to do. It would have made him happy for his own personal satisfaction and peace of mind because he does not like making mistakes that affects others like that. Does anyone know for sure if that could have been done?????
