Beagle ear infections

Post by high ridge joe »

What would you use to treat an ear infection on a beagle if the irritation to the ear was caused by a yeast infection?

Thanks

In my 16 years with beagles, I have learned that yeast infections in ears generally relate to diet. If you remove the sugar from the diet, the yeast goes away. The sugar comes from carbohydrates or grains. Most commercial dog foods contain grains. Once I left kibble behind and fed raw chicken and no grains, no more yeast. You can put all the antiyeasts in the ears you want but it will just keep coming back. Yeast is a brown, sticky, smelly substance that grows in ear canals, or anywhere that moisture is held (feet, lips, anal area) Good luck.
