New truck: Should I get a Toyota or Chevy??

Post by Casey Harner »

I looked at a nice 4 door CrewMax Toyota. It was super nice!! It was Slate Metallic, Black Interior leather. Also a 2008 truck!!

The chevy I am looking at is a 2500 HD 2007. Also a super nice truck. That truck is maroon.... im leaning toward the Toyota though.

Humm tough choice. Those are both nice trucks. I am a silverado man myself and like chevy trucks. But I really am liking the new superdutys that ford makes also Dodge make a nice truck too. Go quad cab more room in the back just in case a couple buddies want to jump in.

Here is my truck all cleaned up. I like the old body style trucks.

I went truck shopping not to long ago and found this beauty at the dealer but couldn't afford it.

Me and my wife went out to look at the new Toyotas Quads! ! !

I think we have decided on what to get now. They should last forever and a day. the only thing I see is that the repairs are a little more pricey.

If I remember right Toyota is made in America by Americans. The only thing I don't understand is the gas milage. My ex has a Camry that gets like 33mpg, but Toyota trucks get worse milage than Chevy trucks.

I do not understand why people choose to support the over sea's companies such as toyota .... if I bought a toyota my grandfather would roll over in his grave. I sell cars for a living and I can tell you this... day in and day out if you look the stats a big 3 truck is the way to go. Toyota ranked #1 in world wide sales and #2 in american sells for trucks... you hear this advertised all the time... you do not hear that it was also the most repaired truck in america for 2007 ...

I am not a soap box preacher and I understand it is your money and you should get what you want... but we always look around ... wake up to our alarm clark built in korea... get coffee from the maker that was made in tiwain ,,,, watch the news on our tv from japan ... and drive to town in our import car and wonder why there is no jobs in america ....

ok enough preaching ...

both are decent truck .. check the gear ratio in the toyota ... sometimes in order to get the tow capacity ect then they change gear ratio's to freakish amounts (4.30) with tow pakage .... a little more room in the toyota than they chevy .... user function about the same .... very user friendly....

If you need anymore info on a chevy .... i can give you all the factory specs ... ;)

I build Toyotas and the money I make does not go overseas. I spend it in America. Do you think there are no foreign investers in GM? I used to work for an American steel mill and I felt the same way some of you feel but times are different than they used to be like it or not. On the other hand I will never own a Japanese beagle

I have owned both and I'll tell you right now if you want to get the most out of your money, buy a Toyota. People can say buy american, foreign parts are expensive, and whatever else. At the end of the day it's your hard earned money that's paying for a truck, you should get whatever will be the best for you. I have a Toyota in my driveway right now that still looks new, has 295,000 miles, and all I've done to it is change the oil, and put tires and brakes(once) on it. Everything else is original. It goes down the road quite, and doesn't burn a drop of oil. When chevy, or ford can make a vehicle that will consistently last like Toyota does, maybe I'll buy another one.
