I have been using Ivomec for a year now and love what i have seen with it. But, my female is now pregnant and she is due for her 30 day dose. Do i give it to her or skip until pups are weaned????
thanks in advance,
Steve

With it cold, I don't think you'll have any problem holding off until pups are born. I have given Ivomec to preg bitches(no problem) but in this kind of weather you shouldn't need too. The only worry I've heard is giving it while pups are developing in the womb, I think ivomec has a 35 day residual effect, so if you gave it last month, it's just now about depleted. I've never had any problems this time of year either way.
Best of luck with your puppies...

Re: ivomec with preg female
I agree with what S.R. Patch states as Ivermectin is supposed to be safe for pregnant females as it is the active ingredient in heartgard. I also stop the Ivermec in the cold winter months when there is no mosquito activity but make sure I start it about a month before I suspect mosquitos to become active which could very depending on the length and severity of the colder winter months.
