Took my female out this afternoon in very, very windy conditions. She jumped one about 10 minutes after we got there. Ran it pretty good considering the wind. I fired several fire crackers while she was running and it didn't bother her at all. Fired one while she was in a check and she ran off a little, but she didn't stop hunting.

Took her around back to another briar patch and she jumped another. Fired a few more fire crackers and again she wasn't bothered. I think I've figured out the problem. She doesn't like jump shooting, and shooting before she starts running.

I realize that during the spring and summer when I was firing over her it was always after they had been running the rabbit at full cry. Unforetunatley, some of the guys I hunt with love to jump shoot. Luckly, I have another group of guys that only shoot after the rabbit has been circled. You can guess which group I'll be hunting with from now own.

You been wondering why she is like she is? You just answered it. Get away from those guys before you ruin more dogs or worse, get one shot!
